Alliance = After reading the rule over and over

So i will ask here again after a long talk in the chat.

This is from homepage…

Never attack other alliance factions - Ofc No problems with that.

Never shoot first except it is needed - Problems with this rule are…

1: We cant hunt for pirates or lawless.
2: We can watch a fight and not attack anyone due to rule unless ofc they are shooting at us. (Good for popcorn but bad for playing.)
3: We have to wait until people attack us before attacking back…(They wont attack us ofc due to us always being 2-4 players)
4: If we have a base in PVP we can get attacked every day but never attack back. (So no base in PVP then.)
5: If people are asking for our help we cant help them due to restrictions of CV. (We can only have 1 CV on PVE planets and on PVP planets we cant leave the base unprotected.)
6: Escort missions - Not sure why anyone would use that when its easier to use market.

I see there is a " except it is needed " But in my world that is a very week rule and you need to clarify this.

Can have bases everywhere
1: Why ? we cant defend them 24/7 and we cant attack others bases so there is no need for it. We just have a base in pve and smell the flowers instead.

Be a guardian for Trading Outpost
1: Who will use a trading outpost when we have the market.

Help new / weak player by protecting / taxi service / etc.
1: We always do that but we cant help them all and there is MIT for helping new players. And this can get real boring driving a taxi after awhile.

"faction command: fa:scan - every 15 minute it scans 10k km in orbit and tell you if an enemy is in that radius
every day an income of 100 Credits + 10 CR * Reputation Points (RP) you have
The longer you stay in that factory the more income (RP) you get"
1: The scan dont work. WE get a message that there is something within a 10k cube. even with 4-5 players that will tkae hours to search. 15 is simple to long wait.

MDA have been alliance for a long time but with these rules there is no action. and with no action there is no meaning being A.
We are the only realy gig Alliance faction on this server and we realy try and roleplay it as much as we can. We usually go out on scouting missions to see that no P or L has bases close to our traders and when finding them we try to take them out.
Also we jump to help others when P or L is attacking them.

All of this will now stop. no meaning for searching for bases we cant attack and no meaning to go to fights becouse people wont attack us.
We think its realy bad for us to go to Pirate but i cant see any other way if you want to pvp.

Hey,
thanks for your feedback guys.

I am really sorry. To be honest: I working the last day non stop. Candy luckily helping me. Jascha is on vacation. My todo list is longer than my schoolbooks were.
After we are feature-complete on 3.0 I go on that thing. The story will be rewritten and also your issues will be addressed. Alliance can shoot first but the intention was that it won’t get abused.
Anyways it is really hard to enforce rules people are not aware for example. It is just a little try from HWS to have kind of role play. I am generally no big fan of restricting players fun but yeah maybe we can balance things with automatism / faction bonus again.
The scan for example.

Sorry, there is really a lot to do and we try our best.

Im sorry for making a mess rex but i just wanted to check this out so i wont get sent to jail just due to me hunting a lawless down or a pirate.

Yes lets do all step by step. Im preparing some post how it looks from out sight of view, to play alliance. So you will get some feedback about it. Take your time, if someone means it with playing he will wait. We will chillout and let poor SWP guys to have some fun before we crush them. Just an example

if alliance can attack first, they are the same as pirates, since they can attack any faction but alliance like pirates can attack anyone but pirates…

Here is a matrix I created to clarify the faction relations. Rexxxus has already seen it.

The axes are not labeled (i.e., attacked/defender) as the matrix can be read either direction. The symmetrical design is intentional, to prevent situations where one faction type can “shoot first,” but the opposing faction cannot. Note that “non-faction” refers to players who are not part of any faction, e.g., a new player. I won’t cover remedies for infractions nor details of Hunter contracts in this post, but encourage further discussion of those topics.

Alliance	Hunter	Lawless	Pirate	Trader	non-faction
Alliance A A
Hunter * * A A * *
Lawless A A A A A A
Pirate A A A A A A
Trader A A
non-faction A A

A = May Attack-on-Sight.

  • = May attack/be attacked only under the terms of a Hunter contract.

(Alliance, Trader and non-faction are effectively equivalent. They are differentiated by the capabilities, rewards and responsibilities granted each.)

Edit: Effective with 2.0, pirates may attack other pirates.

^This basically sums it up, I’m gonna sticky this since there is a lot of confusion about IFF and factions.
