One of the latest weapons in the techtree are laser pistols T2
We don’t have that many weapons (if you ignore the tech levels), all should have some use, especially those we unlock latest.
I find it a pity that we can’t upgrade weapons, that would give them more worth.
Aside of that the laser pistol should get something that makes it useful.
It’s effective against hull but the same goes for the laser rifle.
Shouldn’t the laser pistol just be a slightly weaker and less accurate laser rifle?
OOOhhh gives me an idea. Not sure how much @RexXxuS and @Jascha can change game files but what if the pistol only had a range of say 10 meters but was extremely lethal? Kind of like a shot gun. For POIs that would be interesting. PVP that might be too much.
Just a thought.
It’s much weaker. no full auto, right ?
The resources are irrelevant anyway, we have plenty.
It could be made stronger, like twice the amount or more per shot.
In exchange for higher priced ammo and very low recharge rate or low RPM.
Just anything 
Range would be fine with 20 meters, but lethal (burn Status) and big Magazines , and while semi auto, a high fire rate, a LASER SPRAY AND PRAY
