# HWS Speedruns (POI Speedrun Leaderboards)

**Speedruns** are races through selected POIs: start at the POI in game, fight your way through its checkpoints to the goal, and get on the leaderboard. Run alone, as a duo or as a group, and the best runs of each season win prizes.

## 🏁 How to Run

1. Fly to a **speedrun POI** (the POI buttons on the Speedruns page, e.g. The Golden Sphere, The Phoenix)
2. Stand **near the POI, outside of it** , and type `speedrun:start` in faction chat (or `s! speedrun:start` in the Server tab). The clock starts with a **GO**
3. Pass the **checkpoints in order** (you get a private message for each one) and reach the **goal**. While you run, the goal is **bookmarked on your map**
4. The run ends automatically when you reach the goal. Type `speedrun:finish` at the goal for the exact time

| Command | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `speedrun:start` | Start a run at the POI, or join the run that is already going on there |
| `speedrun:finish` | Finish at the goal (otherwise it tells you how far away the goal is) |
| `speedrun:status` | Your run: time, distance to the goal, your next checkpoint, who still misses what |
| `speedrun:cancel` | Give up the run |
| `speedrun:help` | All commands |

### Rules

- The POI must be **untouched** (nobody changed it recently), and you must start **within reach of the POI but outside of it**
- **One run per POI at a time** , and you can only be in one run per server
- **Leaving the playfield or disconnecting** ends the run. **Dying doesn’t** : respawn on the same playfield and keep going
- Every POI has a **time limit** (usually 2 hours)

## 🤝 Solo, Co-op and Group

While a run is going, other players can **join** it by typing `speedrun:start` at the same POI. Up to 8 players:

- Nobody joined → **Solo**
- 1 player joined → **Co-op**
- 2 or more joined → **Group**

Each category has its own leaderboard, and everyone in the run is listed and gets the prize.

## 🏆 Leaderboards and Prizes

On the Speedruns page, pick a **POI** , a **category** and a **season** (or All time):

- Rank, runner (and the players who ran with them), time and date
- The **prizes** of the season: HWS Ingots, credits and items (delivered into your **OCD** ) for the top places, with the current holder of each place
- Prizes are paid out after the season ends

### Watch a run in 3D

Click a run to open its **3D replay** : the route of every player through the POI, the checkpoints with the time each one was reached (splits), and deaths. Play, pause, change the speed, fly around with **WASD** or follow a player (`?` lists all controls).

### Fair play

Something fishy about a run? Signed-in players can **Flag as cheated** (with an optional reason). The admins review flagged runs and remove cheated ones.

## 💡 Request a POI

Missing your favourite POI? Click **Request a speedrun POI** on the Speedruns page and name it (up to 5 requests per day). The admins see every request and may set it up.
