**HWS Traders** are player-owned traders: an owner puts together an item package and the server sells it to other players. A great way to earn passive income, and a quick way for buyers to get bundles of items. HWS Traders are not the same as the in-game NPC traders or the [HWS Marketplace](https://forum.empyrion-homeworld.net/t/hws-marketplace/4376).

## 🛒 For Buyers: How to Buy a Package

1. Be **online in game on that server**
2. Open **HWS Trader** and click a trader’s row to see the full package
3. Click **Buy** (in the table or in the package window)
4. Enter **How many times?** you want to buy the package, then click **Buy**
5. “Items should be arriving in game any second now!” The game charges you and delivers the items into your inventory

- Packages cost **Credits + HWS DNA** , as listed
- Make sure you have enough **free inventory slots and volume**
- **60 seconds cooldown** between HWS Trader purchases
- Not possible on blocked or event playfields, or while you take part in a player event
- Packages can only be bought **in PvE** or in **Trading Zones**
- Sellers can’t buy their own packages

## 👤 For Sellers: Your Own HWS Trader

### Get an HWS Trader

An HWS Trader is a permanent supporter item called **“Your HWS Trader”**. Buy it on [Support Us](https://connect.empyrion-homeworld.net/re/support). It then appears on the [Your HWS Traders](https://connect.empyrion-homeworld.net/re/trader/config) page within about 5 minutes. If not, contact RexXxuS.

### Set up your package

1. Open **HWS Trader → Your HWS Traders** and click **Edit** on your trader
2. Change the **Trader name** if you like (max 64 characters)
3. Click **Add item** to add items. Click an item’s icon to swap it, change the amount, or remove a slot with the **X**
4. The slot counter and the **Credits / HWS DNA price** update live
5. Click **Submit for Approval** and confirm. Your trader is locked until an HWS admin reviews it
6. Accepted → your package goes live in game exactly as submitted. Rejected → you see the reason on the page and can edit again

### Status

| Status | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| **Editable** | You can change the trader |
| **Editable in Nd** | 7-day cooldown, N days left |
| **Pending approval** | Waiting for review, you can’t edit meanwhile |
| **Rejected** | See “Rejected: reason”, you can edit again |

## 💰 Rules & Pricing

- Up to **49 item slots** per trader. Amount per slot: 1 up to the item’s stack size
- Package contents can be changed **once every 7 days**
- **You can’t set the price.** The server calculates it: the sum of each item’s market price × amount. Items without any known price count as 100,000,000 credits each, which makes a package extremely expensive
- **HWS DNA price** = Credits price ÷ 75,000, rounded up (about 1 HWS DNA per 75,000 credits)
- Sellers earn **50%** of the full Credit value of each sale
- Your trader stays active as long as you were online in the **last 7 days** (per server)
- Maximum of **4 HWS Traders per server per player**
- Traders exist separately on each server

## ❓ Common Messages

- **“You must be online in game to buy from the HWS Trader.”** : join that server in game first.
- **“The HWS Trader is disabled on your current playfield.”** : you are on a blocked or event playfield. Move somewhere else.
- **“You need to wait 60 seconds between HWS Trader purchases.”** : wait a minute.
- **“Trader not found!” / “Trader is not active!”** : the trader was removed or deactivated. Reload the page.
- **“The game service did not confirm the command. Check in game before sending it again.”** : the purchase may have gone through. Check your inventory and balance first.
- **“This trader is locked and cannot be edited right now.”** (owners): it is pending approval or inside the 7-day cooldown.
