Hey, @moandor2439.
Can you please go to the main menu, into settings and then edit your player. Please make sure you have a body type set in there. If you do not, set one please 
If that doesn’t help, we could also try to do a full reset of your ingame character. If you just set your ships to factioned, then afterwards I can restore your level and upgrade points (but not the ones that you have spent), and your inventory.
Heya Bob the problem seems to have resolved itself after the latest update, possibly the Epic games one? Fingers crossed i wont need a full in-game reset
