railguns are a magnetically accelerated metal spearlike slug, massive damage to a very small area, zero splash, they should be all about bullet speed and single block destruction

if any weapon “deserves” to be able to lag through to internal destruction, it fits the role of a railgun

Can we stop OLP towers from shooting? Just increase AG zone/raise atmo density so new bases can’t be plopped up from within in firing range of current OLP towers…

No we can’t. No setting for that available.

300m is currently the highest (technical) amount possible

That would affect not only OP structures but every vessel on the planet. Resulting probably that you can shoot with your SV rockets 10m.

What is your pure reason for turning it off?

  • Private OPs as a shooting beast? Not allowed per rule. Check
  • Fly near and got shot? Every base on a PvP planet which is NOT green is probably the wrong target to scout

Just so I can understand. The main reason why it got activated again was to prevent OP camper.
If you compare I think it is much worse to get blown up by OP camper than losing a thruster or so for “lazy” scouting, no? :wink:

Impossible to code right now, which is why i suggested high splash, i dont mind either rail or plasma but something should have that shredding effect.

unfortunately high splash low damage is extremely bad for performance efficiency, as you would would want as much damage applied per block. With low splash you would need 20-30 blocks effected multiple timed before they die so either ships die really slowly or that’s a lot of fast splashes both outcomes being really bad.

You forget the AG zone makes it where the dirt is near impossible to dig… What about the good old tunnelers? Or digging to enemy bases etc… Currently on GG people are coming digging a hole straight down/filler tool it up and you’re unkillable. That is reward with no risk you know? AG range should be lowered.

As Elfias said before best option would be to split it in 2, but then you could do something like this :]

Building at any height would have the same effect as building on bedrock, would also make it impossible to abuse by hiding core way down as it would also move the anti dig zone way down as well ^_^. Then guns could switch off during offline protection with no one able to mess up your base in any way.

Armor and armor booster balance it is difficult thing… Because it is epends from enviroment hands weapons and etc etc. So if you change it so much you need change temp and rad parametrs on the block. Admins need remake all planets and etc. yeah it is doog but maybe little later.

Na I’v used current planets as template, and added more armor because we die in 1 hit we need a bit more tank, also made it so that light medium and heavy is viable not only heavy :]

If you want it too see in 7.5 you may send it the RexXxuS and we look at it. About armor - yes now we have overal dmg boost. But my hand do not reached for this yet. Need finish the main balance. (some minutes-hours)

So try it and enter the game and check! If you mae great balance for it i think Rex was happy and all of us be happy to! And i inject it into the my HWS config

p.s. Yeah just add it string Armor: 243, type: int, display: true (medium) I think maximum +75% boost to armor without boosters (based on overal balance) 200 375 650 for example.

Cool i’m done but I can’t get it working in single player am I putting the file in the wrong place?

Started new single player after coping it there, not sure what else to do.

SP = restart the whole game after each change.

Better start your local dedicated server. There you only need to restart the server after changes, not the whole game. (needs to be put in the proper Configuration folder then)

Rest is fine.

I did restart whole of empyrion before testing and didn’t work but ill try dedicated rather.
