Lost 4 alien cores to lag

What happened?
=> Friend (Nomad) dropped 4 alien cores for me to pick up and immediately on pickup I got disconnected from server. On reconnect I was back a few minutes and have lost the cores. The cores were not on the ground or in Nomad’s backpack

I’m guessing the logs do not show me picking up the cores either?
