Been trying to farm up this weekend. So far most planets I go on whether it’s Nomad, Xirax, Vulv, Andromeda etc, they all have already mined out 300-1200 deposits. In doing 2 passes over the planet I am lucky to find a single meteor or two on an entire planet. If I do mine a meteor, a majority of the time a new one does not fall right away. To compound matters, a lot of these planets are way too heavy on the water and most of the time the meteors land in water. I thought we learned in 5.0 back on the starter planets that it wasn’t a good idea to have massive water planets for resource farming.
I understand if you want to slow down resource gathering some, but between the amd deleption setting being turned on, wiping out of OCD for mag/z&e and these low drop rates, erestrum being required for ammo, and the general increase in crafting costs, no one is going to want to pvp, because as of right now it can take hours of farming just to get several stacks of ore. New players must have a really long time to gather neo/sath/prom and all the other resources on top of the rares.

I think this is a really good topic to discuss. It is certainly really challenging to source sufficient material for constant PvP battles.
Though is it is early in the season, I am yet to explore all sources of the rare ores, so hard to give a definitive personal opinion at this stage.
If rare ore supply was increased, I would be in favour of small increases, that can be assessed and upped again if required. What I don’t think we need is a server were everyone has easy supply of all the ores you need with no effort.
So it is a question of balence and I have no doubt there is always room to improve this balence.

Tanks for the feedback.
I admit that not all planets are 100% handmade chosen and balanced yet and I appreciate your point of view for new players since you have 500k+ stuff in your OCD and couldn’t care less.
Regarding water that is how it is and part of survival to dive for good stuff. Not everything should be always on a plate with a blinking sign “grab it for free”. But I can make a detailed comparison and adjust the ratio of water planets a bit if there are too many of them.
Regarding Meteorites: these nice balls are buggy since ever and sometimes they work and sometimes not as a player wants to. To activate the AMD depletion is the only logical step but sadly there is the regeneration feature missing for deposits (which should be implemented at the same time).
So we have to be creative for now and enjoy a little more survival thrill as known. Marketplaces are more lucrative now to make money, missions (to come) are more valuable, etc.
And last but not least the regenerating asteroids in orbit are one of the best ways to get resources since they regenerate every 3 hours.
Everything will be looked into and balanced carefully.
