I have two computers, game works fine on my “lousier” laptop but not the “better” PC. Stuck in loading page connecting, even after 30min still nothing. On rare times it can load, it will crash within minutes. Help!

Game works fine on single player survivor mode.

Really love this game it’s like a childhood spaceship dream come true.

Hey, @brighter. Welcome to HWS :slight_smile:

What do you mean by “frequent crashes”. Messages that the connection to the playfield was lost, full crashes to desktop, or something else?

Normally we can’t help with destroyed ships, but as a one-time exception I restored a newer version for you now.

Is this a regular thing? I had it all day yesterday… but it was allot of people in-game also.

I believe it was possibly PC related. I helped in discord pm before he went to bed. we shall find out tomorrow :crossed_fingers:

Hello Dark,

Thanks for following up. I am referring to technical errors. Summarising the story

  1. I started playing with Empyrion on Epic Games a few days ago. Tried survivor a bit and then HWS.

  2. When playing HWS EU, I realised Epic Gamers cannot use the command mode. I could not spawn a starter ship. A player name Natas kindly donated a ship to me. (hence the ship name NatasGift)

  3. I continued to play HWS EU for maybe 10 hours or so, and realised no commands means I cannot carry over my items between quarterly server wipes on OAM OCD and I was missing out on the daily gifts.

  4. So I bought the Steam version. I uninstalled Empyrion on Epic Games and reinstalled it via Steam. I created a new character as I could not port over my character from Epic Games. (This is my steam account Brighter4117.)

  5. After a couple of hours, I started having many technical issues. The first technical issue was I got stuck on loading page connecting to server (either the standard blue Empyrion planet screen or the HWS screen) and I could almost never enter the game. The second technical issue was crashes every few minutes on those few times I could finish loading. This included connection loss, or the whole game crashing and sending me to the desktop. This persisted for a few days and I could not play on my desktop.

  6. My logs showed error such as

  1. I tried HWS another computer (my laptop) and it was fine. Just that I don’t play on my laptop much because it overheats. Therefore, it appeared to be a computer issue.

  2. Some helpful players on Discord (including Bob, Englishlad, Xyston) gave some technical advice. I deleted my cache, verified my game and later did a reinstall. Works fine for now except for trouble finding the HWS server – which I use Steam view servers as a stopgap.

  3. During one such game crash, I had just warped. When I relogged in, drone destroyed half my ship (NatasGift) and half my cargo.

  4. I think today 2 Nov 2024 around 11.30am server time, I reset my character so I could get a new starter CV. Didn’t know how to repair the damaged ship.

  5. Thanks for being willing to restore my ship. Though how do I view it? Think it may have overlapped with the time I reset my character.

Can you please go into ...\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Saves\Cache and delete everything?
Note that by doing this, any ready-to-spawn blueprints will also be deleted.

Also when you’re in the main menu in the game, please go into settings and then your player, and make sure you have a body-type set. If you do not, set one :slight_smile:

Ok deleted!

And set a body type.

Embarrassingly, I didnt collect the items when pressing egs spawn. My inventory was full. So now i am stuck with an unfuelled ship. If you could help give the starter items again, I would be very grateful.

Hi,

New errors happened. Still in the midst of transferring my loot from Epic acct to Steam acct so I can just fully play on steam.

Game crashed (error code: unable to connect with dedicated server). Kicked me back to game main screen. Relogged, and those items in my yellow f4 logistics ship components disappeared. The other ship components like plasma turbine, advanced constructor, advanced RCS, thrusters, etc are painful but I can still replace. Worst is I lost my first ever basic cpu extender.

Could you please help to restore? I cannot use in game commands on my Epic account (qwer4117) so i cannot do an OCD restore.
