I have a couple changes I would like to discuss the possibility of implementing as far as a base goes and would like to open the topic for further discussion.
Spawning a base on a planet that does not allow for private bases (Homeworld, GG, origin planets, etc) should automatically set these bases to faction. It’s such a simple change to switch it from private to faction, but it ties in with the rest of the topic. Disable changing the ownership (faction to public or private) without physically removing the core.
Another would be base spawn cool down periods. Not every base should be such a simple flick of the finger for an instant drop down base. Nobody can have an instant house in a day, unless they built it by hand. Spawn a base, wait for a cool down period (30min -1 hour depending on class), and this is done per faction.
Disable base turrets from being manually fired!!! This one is ridiculous and will be contested for sure. There is no reason for a base fight to have to consist of actual bases physically fighting each other, they shouldn’t have even been spawned within range of one another. If not, then
Limit base turret manual fire range to the actual automatic fire range. So many turrets I witnessed not doing a damn thing against a drop down spawn, watching manual fire take out turrets several hundred meters in, and not firing on the other base at all. They couldn’t have failed harder than having ED in a whore house. If they can’t automatically fire back because they don’t see it as in range, then the manual fire needs disabled or set the range to the automatic firing range.
