That is a stargate portal. If you buy a pair from https://support.hws.global, you can have more placed on another structure of yours, so you can easily teleport between them
The stargate* in your penthouse alone is useless, until/unless you buy more stargates.
If you do, we can link it/them to the one in your penthouse.
Speaking of supergates, I was wondering, are they per season, or per use? It says they are One Use in the shop. Single use supergate kind of sounds pointless, so I am hoping they last at least through the season. I want to be able to jump with my ship though, would the be possible? How far from the HWS Meta planet the supergate has to be in KMs? There is already a portal in front of the penthouse though, so I could use that for personal teleporting. What I lack is a gate that can let me jump through with the ship I fly. Say I plan to go to Polaris or Colonists space and wanted to plug a gate here or there.
Keep in mind that the one in your penthouse is a stargate and not a supergate. Stargates are only for players; supergates are bigger and primarily for ships.
But both of them last until the next full wipe, then theyâre lost âOne-time useâ means that you donât get the stargates until you use a command to get them in your inventory.
So if thatâs in two years from now, no problem. But the moment you redeem them using the command, they will be lost at the end of the season.
A supergate (not stargate) would have to be 1,5 km away from the planet at minimum. There is already a public supergate in ECC Sector, but a bit away from HWS Meta.
You can buy your own one and have it placed closer, if you want. Youâd just have to buy two, so you also have somewhere to warp to For example in Polaris or Colonist space, as you suggest.
Stargates are public, and anyone who can physically access it, can also walk through it.
Supergates can be restricted to a faction or be public, and while we can add fees to them, it wouldnât be you who receieved the fees from it
Ok thanks for explaining. What is the difference between a stargate and a portal that I already have in front of the house?
Also, since Stargate package has 2 gates and I already have 1 in the house, if I do 2 more gates in two different systems, will they three see each other?
Another question - if I get a supergate and put it in Colonists space, will the public one see my supergate?
Sorry third question, how much is a toll to jump from ECC to Polaris space or to Colonists space? I may not be rich enough yet if itâs hundreds of thousands of $$ or hundreds of HMS DNAs.
stargate is a walkthrough portal for players only and come in linked pairs. ie, 2 gates linked together for walking through with ur person only.
supergates are for players with or without ships and can be individually linked to multiple gates. ie, warp gates that teleport u and the ship ur piloting to another gate.
if u have seen Stargate SG1, supergates are the giant space portals.
Thanks, Bob! Why I am asking - I already have a stargate in the house. So if I buy a stargate pack - it comes with two gates. If only TWO can connect to each other, then it will be a waste of a stargate. Thatâs why I ask if I set down 3 gates, will they all see each other? If I have 1 gate in the house, 1 in say Polaris and 1 in Colonists spaces houses, will I be able to go between all three gates? Otherwise, what is the option in my case, as I already have one gate and if connection only between two gates is allowed, my third gate will be wasted.
so we can use all 3 if we have a penthouse and a pair of gates? if so, this is an added bonus for combining packages i was not aware of. i was always under the impression the penthouse gates were decoration only. (i remember when they were just LCD placement holders)
