Alright, sorry for that emotional excourse, let’s come to the interesting part: The upcoming HWS RE 2.0 release!

  • Reforged Eden 2 changes few mechanics as some know. For example Shield Penetration. This means some HWS POIs will be updated to reflect that - be it existing ones adjusted or new added to emphasize on that mechanic, so you better bring block sponge ships.
  • Since the OCD will be wiped the first time in HWS history (except Alien Cores), it’s the best time to overall rebalance HWS features. That means new categorization of the items in the OCD, daily HWS Origin benefits, HWS Connect Daily Loot and Skill Tree and loot distribution of HWS Stargate Missions and HWS POIs.
  • On that occasion it’s a good timing to rework the PvE and PvP HWS hotspots. Golden Globe for example will offer more Gold and content on the one hand and the Stargate Missions more loot on the other hand. So even though the RE 2 universe is so large, the HWS Community will come together on the Homeworld PvE and Homeworld PvP System.
  • The compensation for this big full wipe and the players who still spent their time on the server will be calculated in their playhours. To not motivated AFK campers, which I already have to cross check here and there, I wanted to make the reward a surprise. It should be quite obvious though, that the reward includes everything you need for a good start into the new season. (I don’t want to be too precise to prevent afk campers)
  • On RE2 there are again couple of starter planets you can choose from. This time, and thanks to submissions from players, there will be different starter ships on different planets. I try to include a screenshot of the ships in the starter screenshot of the selected planet. I’ll also add them in the forum in a new topic you can check upfront what you can get.
  • Lastly a little disclaimer and reminder that Reforged Eden 2 is in “Beta” and since everyone starts with a blank OCD, there is nothing more important to me than balance of the economy. Since it’s a new economy though, we have to go slow, test and adjust along the way. That means that Garage ships might be released after a few weeks, if weapons and economy is more known. “Nobody” wants an overpowered or overpriced garage ship.
    More importantly though I will be ultra strict about any exploit, glitch or whatever. I’ll establish the good old: ban first, ask later system in certain situations to immedeatley react to harmful actions.
    Please. Please contact me if you find anything suspecious or “too good to be true” mechanic! This is our chance, the best chance to start into a great and healthy economy.

Hello, RexXxuS! Have a nice vacation!
Above you mentioned the upcoming work and finish HWS+, and do I understand correctly that after this finish there will also be a full OCD wipe?
And since I have been playing on HWS+ for many years, and my OCD is dear to me:) (especially OCD level), please tell me in more detail: what is meant by a full OCD wipe, deleting only the content or resetting the OCD upgrade levels?
And if this is planned, do you consider this an inevitable solution for HWS+?

the OCD wipe is for the RE1 servers moving to RE2. nothing has been announced for HWS+ wipe.

I know that the current wipe concerns only the RE server.
But at the end of the article, RexXxuS addressed the inhabitants of the HWS+ server and mentioned its upcoming development (quote: “this is the best time to work and finish HWS+”). That’s why I’m interested in his plan and vision for the further development and transformation of HWS+, and in particular, whether there will be an OCD wipe during this development, or at its end (similar to the RE server). And will it only be a reset of the OCD contents, or also a reset of its upgrade level.

nothing has been mentioned about wiping the OCDs in HWS+. there has been no discussion from rex on that topic at all. the feedback section of discord has some of us suggesting it but there has been mainly radio silence when it comes to any HWS+ plans. his announcement promises more information on this soon :crossed_fingers:

Well, if he doesn’t say, then the plans are really secret.
But if in the future it will be necessary to wipe OCD on HWS+, then I hope without resetting his level. Leveling it up was very labor-intensive, and personally, I’m unlikely to take up this task again.

if he doesn’t say, it’s unknown. there’s no point in speculating or assuming anything. threats of leaving over XYZ are pointless until there is more information given :woman_shrugging:

I did not understand what “threats of leaving” you are writing about, I have been playing on HWS for many years and consider this server to be the best, therefore I ask a question about its future development.
I appreciate your interest in my question addressed to RexXxuS, but my original question is addressed specifically to him, because only he can know the answer to it.
Thanks for your speculation, but no need to answer the question instead of RexXxuS. I’ll just wait for his answer to my initial question when he has time.

Whether HWS+ has a full OCD wipe or not is not decided yet :slight_smile: When eventually Rex gets closer to a full release, I’m sure he’ll make an announcement about it.
