Any changes to the Economy?

I have not played on HWS in maybe a year. Last time I played, I was a bit uncomfortable with the amount of credits in the economy. For me, this altered my game play in a way I did not really want and I felt it was a bit broken. Has there been any recent change to level out the economy? Maybe others do not see it as broken?

What do I mean?
For example, in order to get credits, it was very easy to get DNA and sell it for millions of credits. This then led to aquiring tech/ammunition/anything through purchases that I had not really earned. It seemed so easy, but then I realized it bypasses game progression and for me, detracted from the experience.

Additionally, I found I could also join the prevailing faction and do a daily run on the PVP POIs to get hundreds of millions of credits (EU & NA combined). This meant I could buy anything in the game with just a run or two to the PVP “Goldmines”.

Who cares, just play the way you want to?
So, could I just ignore the easy credits and play My Way? Not really. In order to be able to use HWS essential features, I need to level things like the OCD, Bank, Salvage, etc. Because the system is awash in credits, the level up costs are also very expensive. So, I needed to join the credit heavy economy, or lose out on HWS specific features.

HWS has so much going for it, I would never want to detract from its many true great experiences. Rex and team work hard to give us an amazing experience season after season. I would however like to understand if this is a concern of others and know what the current status is of the economy. Maybe I just need to temper my expectations to what others find the most enjoyable.

there are several get rich slow schemes built into the re2 scenario. it’s intended to be a long single player adventure of consuming everything available in a playfield then moving on to another in a rinse/repeat process.

essentially we have thousands of overlapping single player save files allowing us to combine efforts and trade duties to share the burden excelling further as a team.

tbh, HWS has always been in the multiplayer mindset where obtaining OCD 10 is intended to be a group effort where several accounts pull together to upgrade one at a time. not meant to be a solo sprint to the end within a single season.

we can choose to play solo if we like but it’s a lot easier to progress when sharing pain with others
