Is there any way to reduce the size of the Global Chat? it takes up about half of my screen I’d prefer it to be a small box to keep tabs on.

Sorry, nothing you can do about it. Chat seems to be last priority.
No, chat rates much higher than network optimization.
Which both are below implementation of working toilets / space deuces.
Actualy it might be solved by puting nice photo over half of the monitor, theres not much to be seen anyway.
Also frame rate of that photo and Empyrion will be roughly same.
can you press f12 and take a screen shot at the size of your chat box we may have idears to help you
