Can you please send Rex and me the exact details about that situation (via PM!): How exactly can you find out. We know of one way, but just to make sure.
That way we can let the devs check and maybe prevent it.
Also about the spike… understandable, but no proof yet. Maybe try to check the same when you fight in a similar situation with some friends on our server (needs to be prime time!). The game has a lot of problems with DC and bad networking of which a lot will be fixed in 5.0. Still it would be interesting to get more detials.

Sadly because of your ADMIN ADMIN shouts and me getting irritated since you also did not realy state what was going on (i just got out of the chat that you are somehow stuck and your CV is somewhere else… which happens a lot btw.) I missread the situation. They were not on Planet but in Orbit (i forgot that AllianceWORLD is not the PLANET), where you obviously fought with them. They also did not steal your ship from you as I thought… at least not in an illegal pve enviorment on Allianace planet. Therefore my instant punishment for them was even unfair.

Again as we allways do: We will look into it. But without much proof we cant do much. And if its not true, we will punish those making false accuses. We have to, otherwise every one would do that and there would be noone lefft on the server, because every bug looks like a hack.
And we dont have time for such things on a daily basis. To many forget that they play an Alpha game. And those dissconnects happen not only with fights against SWP as you can also see in this forum.
Sadly 4.0 made a big step back regarding performance and disconnects. We hope 5.0 really makes a big difference.

Hello, had to come here aswell to tell my notifications on this thing. I was killed by SWP a couple days ago too while mining. After that I decided to get my revenge and went looking for them with CV and fortunately found their small CV floating in space. So I decided to kill it.
Then the weird things started happening. After getting as near as 500 meters suddenly all my guns that have to be manually fired stopped working (had many thousand ammo). Soon only half of my turrets were working and those too only like half of the time. I ended up leaving the ship alone cause couldn’t destroy it with only a couple of miniguns shooting sometimes.
The same thing has happened to me 2 times while fighting SWP, with SV and CV weaponry. I have never had such issues with anyone else. Those fights happened on planet and the other one in space.
Both times after I got like 2-5km away from SWP structures my weapons started working magically.
Can’t prove this because I’m not using fraps or other video recording tools. Just bringing out what has happened to me.
@Jascha, @RexXxus my first post describes exactly what I experienced. My admin shouts were because I thought that I was experiencing a bug at first. Through the entire experience, I did not see a single SWP ship or player. From my end this was not a fight at all. I did not fire a single shot from my CV at SWP, unless my CV turrets autofired. I only knew they were involved because you started to yell at them to get out.
To your point, I disagree: no, not every bug looks like a hack, but when one group massively benefits from the game behaving unusually on a regular basis, logic dictates that that is not a simple bug. You say I only have a little proof. What level of proof exactly beyond what I provided, would you need of the cheat I describe? What other proof would even be possible for me to come up with exactly? How would a screenshot of my DC screen be helpful exactly? Or a screenshot of my dead CV (pretty sure you saw that yourself)? This is basically all I saw in game. I do not have access to your server logs, I cannot see the behavior of other players beyond my local character. At the end of the day it is up to admins to curate your server. If you are fine with letting one group ruin PVP for everyone, that is your choice, but I won’t be donating again and I wont be back.
You understand that this is a client and server game and has no peer to peer connections.
So for SWP to get your ip they would need to have actual access to the server on admin level.
If they had that do you really think that this is what they would do with that level of power?

SnakeEyes, please understand that DC’s during fights are EXTREMELY common in this game. Sometimes only SWP DC’s, sometimes only you. The luck of the draw. I find it still very unlikely that they are cheating and was hoping you would provide real evidence in your topic after your public accusations in global chat. But sadly not…
SWP is my enemy but… I find it sad they get accused of cheating so often when often they are not. They push stuff to the limit (so do I) but cheating, nope. The worst I ever saw from SWP from all encounters was a single turret under water… That’s it.
This ONLY works on direct peer to peer communication of which Empyrion has NONE.

Lol, i think it’s pretty clear you’re the one who don’t know how “any of this internet thing works”, do you even know what an IP-adress is? Did you even watch the video? You know you can click the embedded video and it plays, right?
The description in the video doesn’t use Empyrion, it uses steam … which you would have seen if you had an attention span longer than 5 seconds and actually watched it!
You really have no idea what this is about, do you? As long as you know someone else’s steam ID, you can find out their IP-Adress … no Empyrion involved, no peer-to-peer, no Client/server.
I don’t know how i can put this in a way for you to understand if you haven’t grasped it already.
You said no one could find out his IP-address, and you have been shown how to.
You will never admit being wrong, so we can just end this part of the thread with you replying to this with some smart ass comment, then move on.
