Crust Ore on Homeworld?

Is there supposed to be crust ore on Homeworld? I dug a bit deep on every biome I could find and didn’t find any crust ore. Was this removed in 8.0 on purpose or is it missing on accident or am I not looking hard enough?

yes, the previous Homeworld planet had them.
But since I first wanted to test Class 5 in action, without insane large resource crust biomes I don’t implemented them yet.
Instead tons of deposits for all resources.
The only resource crust planets for now are the Homeworld “Moons”

Thanks for the details. I’d like to provide feedback: While there are tons of deposits on HW, they all seem to be small and medium deposits which give very little ore (like 1 stack).

It feels very difficult to get the common resources, some of which are needed heavily for both ship and ammo construction. A lot of the older factions are relying heavily on their OCDs from past seasons, but I personally don’t have a stock pile.

Black hole is currently the best source for these common resources but that seems to get mined out pretty quickly these days. You have an easier time finding an untouched Gold or Erestrum asteroid in BH than you do finding a Copper or Magnesium asteroid.

I’d love to find a balance where HW crust gives resources again, but in a fun balance way.

There are two options I see:

1. Each biome gives a different resource (IE grasslands give copper while mountains give Iron) and this will attract people to Homeworld but force them to spread out more to get different resources. It will also be fun trying to discover where all the different resources are located.
2. There are X number of small biomes around the planet that give all resources but those biomes are small enough that factions would try to claim them and fight over them for control of the resources there.

I prefer option 1 but 2 could work.

Ya the deposits are sooo small and the planet sooo big we don’t waste our time with them. Thankfully I had a stocked OCD from last season. Deposits either need to be bigger or the crust added back in. HW was amazing last season, second to GG in PvP. Now its a useless rock which is sad as its the namesake of the server. No reason to go to HW anymore.

I made this complaint before in General Discussion and I stick with it now. There is little reward almost on all planets currently. Mining is absolutely dismal where a large deposit only gives 2 stacks of ore at the very most. I’m speaking for the factions that didn’t have the opportunity to mine before patch 8, they are WAY behind all of us huge factions that did and have lots of resources stored in our OCDS. Us big factions have been using mostly our OCD’s to make our ships, ammo, fuel, and everything else that minerals are needed for. We spend a lot of our days mining in Black Hole to get a meager amount of resources. For the factions that don’t have this advantage they are having to mine for DAYs just to get 1 pvp cv up and going where as the factions from previous patch already have 2-3 cvs for every member in the faction. We have resorted to just farming gold on GG to purchase everything we need form NPC trader and EGS because mining is to tedious and we do not have the time to be mining out deposits all day. Majority of the time, if on a planet, you are traveling to get to the deposit. It’s not just the lack of resources you get its also the distance between each deposit is insane. With all that being said we have no reason to build up on pvp planets because the Risk is to HIGH for such a LITTLE reward. Please make HW great again! So that there is reason to mine there. If not HW then enhance the deposits somewhere please! 2 stacks is not enough. 8 stacks at the very least from 1 deposit would be satisfying but not nearly as close as to what we were able to get in patch 7.
