Expanding on Alien Sacrifice

Alien Sacrifice (HWS Story - Reputation Points / The Alien Sacrifice / Death) is an original HWS concept which could be expanded a little - by allowing players to sacrifice too. How it would work:

First, the chatbot would get a new couple commands to use the expanded system, so that the containers we use now aren’t instantly absorbed for RP, but are consumed by command (such as “as:consume:HAND_SLOT”) which would only work if the player is holding his faction’s epic.

This would let people hoard Alien Containers of their own faction without having to be careful with equipping their epic weapon. Another idea might be to allow a player to “as:consume” a Container from another faction for a much lower RP gain (like, 1-2 RP).

There would also need to be a sacrifice area (temple? altar?) - probably in a hard-to-reach area, rather than in Capital City. If a player goes to the altar and uses “as:sacrifice”, they would: lose 1 RP, die, and respawn on their origin Cryo planet. If the player was Level 25 before doing this, it would also give him (into his new starting inventory) an Alien Container of a new type (maybe “Rare”? one of the ones not used for the Alien Sacrifice system yet) which could be "as:consume"d by any faction for a few RP.

This would be useful for spurring a couple things in gameplay:

  1. Levelling up is currently only done once, and then never touched again, likewise with the initial survival gameplay (respawning on your Cryo world as a Level 12+ character is pretty trivial).
  2. It would also encourage players to go to the altar with minimal equipment, or faction support, since they’d be leaving their backpack behind (side note - might be nice to have the temple in a PvP playfield like the Zirax Home to limit access to OCD as well).
  3. It would add to the economy (selling of your XP and buying of RP)
  4. It would add another way to get RP
  5. If the “Unlock Points” on level up were ever tightened up to promote specialization, this would allow a respec without "cb:reset"ting.

I don’t know enough about the coding challenges inherent in modifying the chatbot, but it seems like it ought to be straightforward enough. Building the temple and writing the documentation would probably take more time.
