Recap of 2024 and Roadmap for 2025
today, the 31.12.2024 is the last day of the year and a perfect time to reflect and plan ahead!
For me it was one of the fastest year I ever experienced. In real life couple of things changed for me that consumed quite a lot of time, so I couldn’t progress that much in Empyrion unfortunately. On the other hand Dark Faction and couple of bugs required also a lot of time.
It was also the first year without Jascha, which dragged me more than often down. There are still so many things that we wanted to do together and especially full wipes are and will always be a pain.
I still try my best to do some of our TODOs as good as I can and I’ll always maintain and protect his legacy until the end the best I can do. I can’t be more thankful for what we achieved together.
Overall it was a very successful year, looking at the numbers. Reforged Eden still carried me in terms of my own unfinished HWS+ scenario I’m still building.
But it’s great to see you enjoy the HWS RE servers with the features we provide, as well as the way we run and maintain the servers. As you know, we want that you feel Home here, a place you can come back to any time. No matter the scenario.
Since I do this for living, this will be my goal as long as possible!
In terms of 2025 I shift gears in couple of areas. Real life got more stable for me, and personally 2025 will get the code name “finishing projects” ^^ I have a few. They really bother me and also some others ^^’
2024 was for me kinda a run-up for a jump into 2025, I’m really hyped and motivated for it.
Being less vague, I want to push the HWS+ release for the best time possible: our 9th Anniversary at March 2025. Running HWS since 9 years, deserve a kinda reboot.
Then, working on both scenarios (with some help), I really want to finish our own Tower Defense game and release it on Steam. Really looking forward to that too and I hope it’s ok, if I announce it here, so you can check it out (for free whoever is interested in it)
The HWS RE servers will be polished, updated and worked on too along the way. Each season will have always something new, as the previous ones.
Big plans but really looking forward to it! Working very hard for it too!
This brings me to my last point: I have the best job in the world! I can do what I love and only because of you! Patreon reached new records this year. I can’t believe so many of you supporting us. Your contribution makes all of this possible! Every single one of you who are so generous giving your hard earned money to us, please be sure we appreciate it more than we can put into words! And also the ones who buy something from our website. Be it an own planet, an own sector, or some Supergates to quickly warp from Legacy Territory to Polaris Territory for example: we are really thankful for any support!!
We will continue to do our best, even if we fail sometimes, we want that you have a great time here! That’s my goal since almost 9 years.
