======= NOTICE FOR HELP =======

What happened?
=> A couple days ago, I was taking on a Luark station in Malphithra in a CV Wayfarer that had over 20K shields and a bunch of positron beam cannons and laser turrets on it. I had the stations shields down, and was firing at where the core was from about 300m or so with 70% of my shields left when everything just froze up. I tried logging back in and was immediately splatted and my entire CV ship was gone. So was the SV meerkat that was parked in the back. I’d lost connection to my “home spawn” somehow as well and was basically stuck. I had other things to do and was pretty pissed, so I took off for a couple of days and tried to log back in today, where I was killed several more times while looking around just for the wreck to salvage. I’ve gone through the ships list and my Wayfarer just isn’t there. I can’t even find the meerkat which was off, but it at least shows up in the ship list. I didn’t want to screw around with it because I figured if I could find it, I could find my wreck to salvage, but I can’t find anything. Even if I can’t get the ship back, is there any chance I can at least get the guns/ammo back?

=> There’s nothing there, its like it doesn’t exist.

How can we help you now?
=> Let me know where the ship’s at so I can go salvage it or teleport it to me somehow? Bring the ship back? I get it if you won’t return the ship and ammo, losses happen, but maybe the guns/turrets at least? Those were the biggest pain to gather resources for. Would just be nice to know where it went, cause even with just the laser turrets firing, it should have destroyed that station on its own.

Hi, @morndenkainen.

The ship was deleted by decay, since it had no core in it. You can see exactly where it is in HWS Connect → Structure Commander.

I can restore whatever is left so you can scrap it. Just let me know when you’re online please, since it’ll eventually just decay again :slightly_smiling_face:
The turrets and ammo may or may not still be in it. I don’t know unfortunately.

Just remember that if you try to scrap it after it has been restored, turrets and such will come back as components if the structure doesn’t have a core, so you’ll probably need to record it.

Sounds great, is there any time you’re usually on and it would be convienient for you? I’m sure I can pop on pretty much anytime tue/wed. EST timezone.

I ended up replacing the ship on my own. I appreciate the willingness to help recover the wreck, but I don’t think I need it at this point. Just out of curiosity, how long does a ship without a core take to decay?

i believe the timer is set to 12hr decay but i have heard of them vanishing when the playfield unloads even within the decay timer. best bet, work as quickly as possible when coreless :wink:
