Just wondering since last night I had a very unique experience. I was flying in space with my CV and my friend was in his SV. An enemy CV appeared and nearly collided with mine. My friend in the SV took off to run circles back, but the CV pursued him and left me in the dust. I was directly following the rear of the ship at 91.1 full speed, but the other CV was able to put hundreds of meters between me and him and quickly overtake the SV traveling at its full speed of 130+. Within 10 seconds the CV was more than a kilometer away flying in a straight line away from me. In all my hours in this game I had never seen anything like it. Is there an in game way to make your ships go faster? Or was this unfortunately an exploit. Sadly no video was taken.
Yes, for the last few minor versions, it is possible to go faster in a CV by having a lot of thrust, and propelling yourself along more than one azimuth. Came in at same time as auto-brake patch, I believe. Basically, hold down W and D, and you go faster than default max.
That’s what I was thinking, but I’ve only been able to get it to work for short amounts of time. Guess it’s all in the wrist.
no, it’s works as long as you press two different directions with same thrusts, even if your cv is a potato with 10 m/s² it will reach 115 m/s. If you have different thrusts you must rotate a bit, it doesn’t help.
