Lag and a solution....Maybe

Ok good job Rexx we are 1 level lower now on up to 500 devices. Just want to quickly comment this.

BA:
Our base with everything necessary have 466 devices now, 5300 blocks. We are trying to keep it as small as possible, I think we can fit in 500 devices and 5500 blocks, it has a row of constructors, garden, armory, storage, hidden feature and 12 personal quarters (thats rest to 500 devices, still not finished).
So if we can every faction can fit into this. 600 devices would be nice becouse windows seems to be devices, plants and usual crap.

SV:
Mine usuall SV has 254 devices. 1015 blocks. Its about 130 thrusters, 12 generators, 21 guns, 40 rcs, 8 ammo, 2x o2, 4x cargo, 1 constructor. Larger one developed from this model might have like 350 devices. These numbers are quite huge, multiply by number of players involved in fight. So far from what i see there its like common size of ship. If you put 21 guns in from of SV you create weight, you need thrusters, generators for them etc. so this is lets say standart size.

CV:
I dont use CV so i can only tell parametrs of one i have as i need one to jump but thats all. 860 blocks now with landing platform, 800 without. 111 devices. 29 turrets, 21 thrusters.

So from what i see:
For base lvl3 is ok, lol i could even like just a little bit more. Ok for PvP, not crowded. Nearly same for PvE.
For CV, im not the one to make suggestions here to you, only to devs about balance. But my CV serves me well for many hours. Of course i run out of combat with this and its easy to destroy. I han imagine lvl3 CV near limit working more than well.
For SV its problem, no change, im at half of limit, i can add one more SV to this one and im stil good to go.

Conclusion:
I welcome the change very much, you cut the monstrosities, but combat will be still the same. No change.
Just feedback i know you can limit separete structure group. So to give you some numbers:

BA: 500-600 devices
CV: 300 devices
SV: 150 devices

I think we can have 150 dev on SV and 300 block limit. Thats more fun :slight_smile:

I tried today to implement some numbers but somehow the calculation was wrong. So I guess they changed the code in the background and jascha needs to fix it. So I only have the global Class 3 restriction for now.
We will implement your numbers later and see how it goes.

Don’t know about limiting SVs though. Have to see.

I dont like the 300 device limit for CV’s
I have a CV I wanted to use and after a lot of work I finally managed to barely get it below 500.
Given how even windows count as devices I’m not sure if I can get it below 300. without removing almost everything on it.

And getting the base my friend and I planned on using below 500 is going to be a challenge at best.

I don’t see why it’s so hard for you guys to make bases/cv’s under the limit. I have a ship that’s close to 6800 blocks, but only 26 devices. You really don’t need a ton of thrusters or gens. 1-2 tier2 large gen is all that is really needed for almost any build, and depending on the weight of the cv, 6 large or xtra large thrusters are also all that is needed. 3-5 t3 fuel tanks are more than enough to power this as well. 2 gens, 6 thrusters, 3 fuel, cockpit and passenger, warp drive and tank=15 devices. Surely you can add all the amenities from there and still keep it under 300.

I agree on those numbers elfias, the usual 300 device sv’s are absolute monsters and just grind everything down to a halt.

And i agree with Manbeast 100%. It can be done. Also think about this as draft we will see, if that would be to anoying we canchange numbers for some playfields, structures.

Simply its nice you have CV you want to use, i also have some bigger. But you are not able to use, not becouse of our wishes or so, its becouse gameitself cant handle that so it should be good to post to Eleon something liek well i love your game but i play on best server and we have to cut down deevices, so i cannot enjoy fully. Please try to throw in some crumb of optimisation for us. :slight_smile: The lauder will be our voice the higher chance is that they will hear.

Any limits that are set are blueprints are worthless for the above reason.

On that note, Traders should take note that they can circumvent and sell PvP ships this way ^^ you’d be the only provider of “big gun” ships.

Yes of course you can build it later, huger. Tool can watch block limit not sure about devices. Tried machine guns today its probably worse in meaning of lag. Somehow im running out of options for what to do.

Yes they are. 300 is way to high…

Blocksize is harder… you can build a combat vessle with 50 devices. but lets say 75. and maybe 150 on cv.

Blocksize on sv needs to be 200 about so you cant cover the hole ship in armor 3 times.

On CV i dont realy care…

People fail to see the big problem of the lag… its coming from the over swarmed pve planets that are filled to the max, nothing else! when we had less pve planets the lag was unnoticed me and sarge could be roaming around with mega battleships, on that time i had ships with 4000+ devices, no lag at all. remove pve and the lag will vanish aswell. and if you gonna make an change you should make it in the next wipe, not now, i have to much shit out there to just vanish, i expect full refund.

Anyways before we hadn’t motorbikes and other Patches which made the netcode worse not better. If it laggs on gold federation it has nothing to do with peacekeepers. Each playfield is a separate CPU process.

Limits maybe helps a bit. But the Core needs better improvements. Nothing we can do

Yea i know :stuck_out_tongue: but i mean its so easy to live in pvp space, my base has never been wiped, and its on an planet, i have had plenty of attacks both from swp and alike, none has managed to penetrate the base, so whats the big deal with people afraid of living in pvp? i am all by myself, BY MYSELF and i manage to survive pretty well.

Me 2… This is the second base that still is alive. But i think SWP will try and take it down now…
