Living on PvP Experiment 2

As long as there is power, ammo is in ammo boxes and everything online then it should work…

LoT would like to fund y’alls next adventure. Please pm me for details.

Hey all just reading this post and one thing that has came to my attention is HV spamming and the mention that it is allowed.
What do you think will happen if people abuse this? Funny feeling they will/ need to impose HV/SV limits just like they have done with BA’s and CV’s.
So just as a cautionary message to anyone who does this, no point crying if limits are imposed as it’s on your head

Black here is the thing. “HV spamming” as you call it is more appropriately called bringing the right weapons to the fight. You accept a considerable lack of effectiveness when you rely on HV vs Base turrets to defend yourself, both in damage and range. Add to that how quickly HV armor depletes, and that with the new patch they cannot fire out of their marked range, and I find it to be very balanced, actually. This is coming from me running a pvp event planet for the last month or two on 4.0 and gearing the planet to HV combat. I saw the planet littered with HV’s and SV’s (I increased the gravity and air density to make flying a cv into combat cost prohibitive) and saw no unfair advantage given because of it, either in firepower or in lagging out an enemy (other than that one time when five of them got dropped from a cv :-p). You have to remember that for HV to be effective, you have to go around and individually fuel and arm each one, and KEEP them fueled and armed. This alone is a massive motivator to prevent hundreds of HV’s being spawned in battle. Not to mention that unlike bases, hv fuel, generators, ammo, and cores are all right there with the guns. You cant really effectively set a bedrock cored HV to defend yourself like you can with a base.

Long story short, I see nothing wrong with using HV’s as they were intended: weapons of war. Hell most people in the game that I have come across, atleast before the drill update, have barely ever even tried to build one.

It’s illegal to publish ships that you steal from other people as its still their intellectual property, so no worries
[/quote]Lol I never looked at it like that. So can I patent the cube design?

Yeah don’t get me wrong I’m not saying it’s not a valid tactic  all I’m saying is if it’s abused to much and effects the server then I can see limits on them being brought into play. Tbh I wouldn’t build on PvP myself for the time being until a base is able to atleast put up a fight when I’m not there cause I’m always helping the new guardians lol

Hv’s are actually really good lag wise, I haven’t seen it lag once so far even with lots spammed, tbh even when i fought 1 cv vs 12 pka and all thranirs missles going off at the same time there was no lag, i have a feeling the devs did something to the streamline the code… it was really nice for once… also remember that those hv spam are only like 200 blocks and 20 devices each, 10 of them is less lag than a single CV. McProuty thanks for the offer but we almost set for test 3  give us a few days and will post the results I have a feeling things wont end so quickly this time.
