It’s good that we can now use OCD:Put and customize what we want to OCD. It’s however not so good that we lose stuff when we use OCD:Get:x and then the window closes twice because of random stuff, wrong keypress, whatever… Why can’t it just dump it all into my inventory if I have room and only show the window when I have not enough room?
I COULD NOT AGREE MORE. This has been non stop messing me up ever since it got changed. To date, I have lost about 2 dozen epics, a few stacks of materials, and loads of gold. For stupid, stupid reasons.
Spoiler Alert: these videos contain proof of me having a rage baby. Brace your eardrums.
This one it closed down as I tried to close the chat. Then it popped up another and before I could recognize it for what it was, I had cleared it away, thinking I had hit p on my base, and wanted the screen to be clear for the epics I was getting. AAAAAAND its gone.
These buggers never even showed up, so I tried to do ocd:get:1:1 (get one magnesium powder) to make sure ocd was working still. Typo’d and submitted just ocd:get:1. And got more magnesium than I would ever have room for. With the old system, it would just stop when I ran out of room.
RIP in peace. I will tip half a Mad Dog in memoriam.
This needs to be fixed though, losses are too real.
I am with you all on this. Although I have not had any issues but I can see how I could. I have been very careful when using it.
Yes don’t do ANYTHING after using the command, especially do NOT press escape to close the chat window manually.
Also if the OCD has a big delay the window could pop up way later (you think the OCD died but it was just slow) while you do something else and then you accidentally close it twice.
So this happened to me. I used a command, forgot about the new popup window and on top of that it was delayed. I was pulling up the player list to look for someone and as I hit “b” the window popped up. Player list closed the OCD window and all of those items were gone. Most expensive HWS mistake so far.
Ya, but old habits over 2700 hours of gameplay are hard to break. Also sometimes, the stuff just never comes, as was the case with the second video. The third was cut immediately after (twitch limits to 60 seconds) you can see the epics just never arrived.
Hey,
sorry for the trouble. I already send it twice to make sure, but its understandable.
Sadly we cant go back since it was too much for the server
The change makes it possible to get the chatbot working much faster.
And all other ways would cause a looooootttt of exploits.
I’ll ask the devs if they could change it so that a key would not close the window anymore. And if there would be any other way to make it faster and not exploitable…
For now what could we do?
- I could send the window after a few seconds. Enough time to close chat.
- I could the window a 3rd time and then with some time difference, so that it would not be closed again…
Yes a 3rd time with quite some time between the 2nd and 3rd one would really prevent most problems regarding this. Sounds good to me.
Also /offtopic is there a very rough ETA on the other OCD issues (eating items, failed transfers OCD6, etc). I am missing items (again) today
Is it possible to just make the window open or re-open until all of the contents are removed?
I’d rather have that scenario and have to force close the client for having a full inventory rather than the alternative.
Or have this as some type of configurable OCD:get setting.
Also is armor disabled? Been trying to store up light armor since it’s craftable and arguably disposable. Seemed to be able to deposit it before.
Update is installed.
First window comes directly
Second sends a message before as warning, then waits 2 seconds, then appears
third sends a message before as warning, then waits 5 seconds, then appears.
hope that keeps people from loosing stuff.
A remodel of the functions comes when the devs build us something nicer
Thank you! That will save us a lot of those “oh f*ck” moments!
Is it possible to add a drop option, if you dont grab something from it on the last opening, throw everything on the ground? In cases where you ask for more than you can hold, you wind up having to send some things back to be destroyed, in order to get room for what you want. If we could drop items while in that interface atleast, it would be better. A force drop instead of delete though would be great. Any idea what causes it to just simply not open?
I’ll ask if we can implement that. Might be not so difficult
Will be done maybe with next update tonight already
