today I found a way to reset deposits + POIs + terrain without wiping your structures on that planet.
There are two downsides though:
if you dig a tunnel in the ground or have underground bases you need to dig them again / out
if you captured a POI it will be reset to a new neutral alien POI again.
Other than that it gives new players a chance to get resources quicker and epic weapons from the POI loot.
The general idea is: deposits / meteorites for early game. Auto Miner for late game.

I tend to break down a captured poi for resources and had the idea of using that nice flat spot.

Big turn off to reset planets where players have built underground bases…some of them very large and extensive tunnels taking many hours of work. I would vote we never do this to faction planets otherwise we risk impacting players who like to build underground and/or use POI as places to build. Resetting faction planets will discourage a style of game play and reduce the variety of bases and opportunities for both the players building these bases AND the players wanting to attack/explore these bases. Big turn off…did I mention that already? Besides, your idea of only resetting the resource planets make more sense anyway.
I think it would be awesome to have a few npc bases that can’t actually be destroyed so drones constantly respawn so that theres some sort of threat on planets and pve areas… It’s nice to at least have those on pve… This way pve areas arent 100% safe. I think the deposits reset enough, especially since you have meteors on the planets. The POI resets would be nice to have sooner but like I said, having a few that can’t be destroyed would be nice too… just for drone respawning
I prefer building underground bases and using the flatland resulting from salvaging resources from killed POIs, so I would prefer not to have resets on faction planets. However, resetting starter and resource planets would allow new players more opportunity; I think those resets should be weekly possibly on Friday mornings or Thursday nights.
I think this should only be for starter planets as I and many other prefer to build underground bases. This would completely change the playing style for many players and would be most time consuming having to dig out large structures over and over again. Please keep it to just starter planets as the reasoning is to make it easier for new players. As it stands certain planets are wiped frequently as is and you could always make meteors more frequent. Also you could make it so starter planets are purely for new players. Once you leave you can’t come back.
I like this, only I would implement it as players over a certain level cant enter the planet, maybe 15 or 17? Alternatively maybe only players over lvl 17 of certain factions can enter a starter planet. For example a lvl 18 trader or alliance can reenter starter planets to trade with or aid new players. Just an idea, I do really like limiting the starter planets to newer players, give them a better chance to make something of themselves.
I would absolutely hate to have to dig out my base and hanger every week just for a small chance at an epic. I wold rather see it down every 2 or 4. It takes 2 real days to dig what we’ve done btw.
