Problem with structure (can't build)

======= NOTICE FOR HELP =======

What happened?
=> I have a problem with the building. In a fairly large area of ​​the ship (CV) I remove blocks and can’t put them back because “there is no space to place block”. Obviously, there are much free space, somehow block were placed before.

What I tried:

• pray
• one more pray
• replace core
• relog
• restart the game
• warping to another playfield and tried to build there
• removed much near blocks and devices to check for “ghosts”
• removed blocks with special effect (in 50m from problem place, but i had to try..)
• saved blueprint and spawned it in creative mode (vanilla, i dont know how to creative RE) and it works - i can put blocks anywhere in creative
• ask ppl in chat
• ..cry

Nothing helps.

=> No ideas! Maybe there is a known problem with sctructure that you can fix. Ship too expensive to make new in factory, and i cant use it now - there is big hole in the ship.

Btw, don’t know if it’s linked, i’ve received many messages about playfield error. Maybe CV bugged after this. Can’t remember what happened exactly, i just ignored error.

If this hasn’t changed, i am sad to inform you that a new build is the only way to fix it…

Or admin can maybe help, take a BP at the place, spawn in new, and destroy the other

Could you please take a screenshot of the issue ingame, and then post it here? I’m a little in doubt about which issue exactly you’re having. A screenshot would clarify that.

It sounds a bit like there’s a ghost block in the way, which takes the space of a normal block, preventing you from placing anything there. This can only be fixed in creative mode, so you’d have to scrap your CV and remake it unfortunately. It’s the only way.

Btw, don’t know if it’s linked, i’ve received many messages about playfield error.

Ghost blocks are unrelated to playfield errors, but if you frequently get playfield errors, it might be a good idea to find another playfield

Thanks. It’s definitely ghost blocks, but based on the screenshot it might be possible to fix without creative mode. If the game engine is overloaded by the amount of triangles in a small area, then it will also result in ghost blocks.
The “small area” is usually something like a ~ 5 - 10 meters square.

Try to remove some triangle-heavy devices or weird blocks in that area, and see if it helps. If not, then it can only be fixed in creative mode.

Thanks. I have dismantle too much blocks near, removed all devices including basics like thrusters and so on, but no result. Okay, im gonna make a new one from blueprint, even if BP is.. completely different ship =. Thank you. I hope this will be fixed once, because it’s too expensive on time\resources. Actually 1 block force you to total rebuild. Solved.

No problem.

This is a very old bug, so it’s unfortunately not likely to be fixed Only if someone can find the steps to reproduce it 100% of the time, intentionally. From my knowledge, it seems to happen somewhat randomly.
