Problems with the pink asteroid fields

There are problems with the pink asteroid fields.
As soon as you approach ships up to approx. 3 km, the frame rate collapses massively
and it is no longer playable. If you increase the distance again, everything returns to normal.
Is this a known problem, is there a solution?

note: 3.5km is “render range” that triggers visually loading structures.

this game has many issues that can make even the beefiest pc feel like a potato. try lowering all gfx settings and revisit the lag ball area to see if it makes any difference.
