RE-ammo draining

I like the idea of leavin em there actually. If you are a debtor in pve, the ships stare at you, reminding you of your shame. If in pvp, they try to kill you

I think @RexXxuS could fix this with a CB command?

CB:Baseassault:on|off - Entering this command could activate a 10 death in under 5 minute code that auto warps you 2K in a random direction. It resets a timer every time it happens for 30 minutes. If you trigger the same event in that 30 minute period you are automatically sent to starter with no other options. Once the command is turned on it can’t be disabled for 1 hour.

Something like that would allow for people in a fight to self recover in a base assault and penalize drainers. You can add to the intruder log if the command was typed prior to identify if someone was trying to drain or assaulting legit like.

Could be a thing! I guess the only thing I be concerned about is perfromance drag on the various real time checks. Those queries take come cycles that could be used for managing targeting for example. Maybe.

You’d want to be able to turn the command on/of as when your PVEing you don’t want to bounce all over.

Would be an interesting one to noodle out. I don’t know how the HWS backend works, but it’s conceivable that the Job could first check if any flags have been set, then run the live checks if yes. Also would need a timeout feature or ppl who didn’t turn it off would get stuck there.

“anything over 10 deaths in a short time frame” Ok we need to clarify short time frame. It would be nice if the developers would actually fix this part of the game. I actually think you should never be allowed to respawn in the same area.

Consider this, if a player is dying so often how much ammo are they actually draining?
Unless the player dying is doing this for hours the amount of ammo drained is minimal.
Crying about it to admins hoping to get another player banned is pathetic. Here’s some
advice scrubs.

Have the appropriate amount of large ammo boxes instead of relying on a few.
A good rule is 4 per ammo type. I like to sandwich a constructor level between
two of these 4 per magazine levels. This allows for easy reloads if you don’t like to
use “P” menu.

Ammo draining can easily be done without a player dying or sacrificing a 20k AmmoDrain.
A good pilot in a good SV can use terrain to drain your base dry.

I have to agree w/ @Mattcore37k. Even 50 deaths wont hardly touch even one large ammo box. These “he died 20 times” posts are a bit ridiculous. It shouldn’t even be considered until 100 deaths.

1 year and still old discusion. Also completely wrong. Eleon has only one good rule: if you do anything what is not intended by normal gameplay it is illegale.
Since it is an alpha game this statement is too open and of course server admins doing rules. Same as in real life - rules are not made by the ones who created something. There are dedicated organisations for it.

Anyways there will be never clear rules - forget this crap. Every human being interpret something else in sentences or situations. So get rid of this illusion finally.
Some things might be adjusted but with the conclusion disclaimer we have now everything we need.

Ammo draining is and will be for quite a while ingame so we step in then.
If both parties have proofs then less work for us and it gets sorted.

But senseless statements as from theraven in this case or some other heroes here will be just ignored and the opposite will be the result. So think twice next time.
