Re: autominer-bug

System closed the thread:

Thanks for the response, aye I know mine are complicated.
I had them to you month(s) before this season started and asked during that time if we could test them before the season, never had a response from you saying no or yes to the request. It seemed like we had so much downtime before season started to iron these planets/systems out.

But what’s done is done and we are here figuring out issues that and ironing them out.

So it sounds like:

  • Don’t build massive planetary sprawling AM depots across a planet.
  • Avoid doing deployable in Sup system planets sounds like the best course of action.

I’m asking/clarifying this for my faction so we don’t run into issues since HWS support response is usually too bad, so sad, next customer please.

But like I said, it’s not just mine that have had issues:
Kingnail’s NA playfields were placed in EU and Faction Locked to Star Command in EU… there wasn’t even a star command faction in EU at the time, he went and created it so he could access his planet when he found it over there instead of in NA.

I totally understand, I messed up on the planet, you didn’t catch it and it took a while to notice it. But as you recognized, my goal was to provide you a fully built file to make it easy on you. I get you’re busy esp at season start so I was trying to make a plug and play playfield… just my first time doing a planet didn’t turn out 100% 8(

Maximizing value – I have no idea. I am only responsible/managing the Star Command Expanse & planet for the faction and my personal GlobeCorp space and planet. Between the two systems, it was setup to help everyone start the new season off with resources to farm. Sad it took so long to deploy that everyone ran off into the universe and the resources were not really needed by the time they went in.

As far as the other playfields going in, it is outside of Star Commands leaderships knowledge/direction/purview. Leadership was not consulted at all for those other planets and we (SC leadership) have no idea what their details are or why people are buying so many or what their plans are for them.

You can do it, but the losses might be frustrating then.
And overall: if a planet deposit wipe is requested, then yes, those are removed too then.

What do you mean by that?

A communication issue I think that could have been resolved easily.

All good, told you it was good for the first time!

Yes, my fault. I’m sorry.
I will prioritize all supporter playfields to the top next time.
A full wipe and the issues it resolved by it (OCD) won’t be happening again for the unforeseeable future either.

RE: The too bad. so sad, next customer:
There are a number of game bugs that are generally not supported.

Some bugs off the top of my head:
Autominers poof bug - no way to provide proof, no support option.
Crops die in space bases/ships bug - no way to provide proof, no support option
Hotbar drops inventory on ground bug when logging in/out/leaving area- no video no item restoration.

it’s frustrating at the player level being forced to provide the proof of being affected by these bugs and usually being asked for video proof. That’s what prompted this whole autominer conversation was trying to prepare for when/if the autominer bug would strike and what as a player could be done. And I understand from a support perspective if there is no logs to go off, just going by the players word is a tough position to be in. Doesn’t change the fact that for players, we loose items, expensive items, left and right to this issue and there’s no logs to restore items from.

But there has to be something to go off of…
The server decided to wipe the crops, where is a watchdog process for this?
The server dropped your inventory on the ground into a “connected storage” bag, where is a watchdog process for this?
It’s a no good situation for player or support.

Ah. Yes.

It’s called buggy game for a reason.

As long as the developers do not fix the core issue, we are all hanging in the ropes here.
But again, HWS has features to compensate losses - where players can get more out of their game time.

And we recommend since day 1, that if a player can make a bug reproducible for developers, then a fix should come asap.
