Must needed to turn components back into ingots. This should encourage resource conservation, brings more benefit for raiding, and increase value with opportunity for economy.
You can use the components to speed production for ships or bases. But, for people like me, depending on situation, I valued material more than time. If you get more materials than time, then time is cheap, And, much cheaper, if donating for instant BP spawn.
There should be a 10% salvage penalty. To, balance things out, realistically, you wouldn’t want 100% just because you are smelting down all that components into ingot.
As it is you can throw salvage back in your constructor for use later. This would have to be implemented by the devs unless Jascha does something with the OCD.
hm… not a bad idea
Should be quite simple to implement. Just have to think about possible risks and exloits… Keep talking about it.
Possible exploit:
If I put a core in my factory, it increases everything by several iron ingots, cobalt, etc etc.
If I then create the tiny blueprint, break it down, and get the parts back, I have made a profit on ingots.
Doesn’t the core required the material to build a “Starter BA/CW/SV/HV”?
The reverse engineer would have a certain ratio of materials. For steel plate, I am going to says 3-4 iron ingots, would be variable refunded or salvage from the steel plate. This penalty is important for people who worried about the “core” loophole giving “free” materials.
I’ll am going over the list of an example materials and what might be salvage
25% to 80%
Materials
Steel Plate 3 iron ingots / 5 iron ingots
Metal Pieces 0 iron ingot / 3 iron ingot
Control Device 1 cobalt ingot / 1 cobalt ingot 1 copper ingot
Electronic 1 copper ingot / 1 copper ingot
Cable 1 copper ingot / 1 copper ingot
Metal Component 1 cobalt ingot / 1 cobalt ingot
Steel Pipe 1 steel plate / 1 steel plate
Computer 1 Control Device, 1 Metal Components, 1 Cable, and 1 Electronic / 1 Control Device, 2 Metal Components, 2 Cable and 1 Electronic
As higher tier components get salvage, so will the salvage might be more higher.
