What happened:
=> I attended the event on EU which was nice (at least for the personal box) even though everything else was looted, and arrived for the event in NA to find a PvP sh*t show where one person was camping everyone and you couldnāt even get your personal box because it was being camped. So I lose the stuff in my bag from the EU event because I didnāt realize this one was going to be different, and I canāt do anything once I donāt have a weapon, so I get killed a dozen times, canāt get the personal box, etc. Hope those who set this up to amuse themselves were amused, because I canāt imagine how new players who showed up would be appreciativeā¦

It is PvP. It is plainly stated in many places. You CHOSE to go there, you also chose to keep your stuff on you, despite RexXxuSās saying that NA was PvP.

Understood. But you ask why people donāt stick around, and this is why. Then you have the two people who were griefing responding to the posts and taunting the posters. You say it was announced, but they were in chat lying to people and trying to deceive people into coming in unaware of it being pvp. There was plenty of loot to fight over without sticking the personal boxes in the center of the mess; then at least everyone could have walked away with something. If you look at any mainstream game, they donāt cater to their trolls on their anniversary events. Iāll get over it, but you want feedback and Iām giving it to you. I like pvp when I know itās coming, but Iāve been playing a while and I check the site from time to time, and I was not aware it was pvp until I got up to the door of the building, by which time it was too late to manage my inventory, etc. I am sure I am not the only oneā¦
How is it Rexās fault you didnāt check if it was PvP or not? It was clearly said so right in the anniversary event post. On top of that you could have checked your map info in-game, as you should always do.
This is also supposed to be a hard server and failing to plan ahead and read often results in a less than ideal situation.
Iām sorry you didnāt have the best experience you could have had.
Itās hardly Rexās fault though that you didnāt pay attention to the provided info.
Just chalk it up to a learning experience for you and prepare better in the future.
Oh, and you should stop listening to in-game chat and do your own research. Chat isnāt always going to be truthful and there are always more trolls out in the world.
Or perhaps chat didnāt intend to give you the wrong info. Mistakes happen and it was a brand new event for all of them as well, perhaps they misunderstood and then gave you the wrong info.

You claim you been playing a while aswell as checking the siteā¦ but you didnt read the fine print that clearly stated at least 1 part of the event was intended to be pvp ? get off it. stop making a bad name for the server for your mistakes.
I donāt see how posting some feedback is making a bad name for the server. What is giving the server a bad name is the handful of clowns who jump on and attack anyone providing constructive feedback.

Yes, and all my grievances were focused on Eleons changes, ofc HWS changes bothered me aswell but Eleon taking the game where its gone has been incredibly frustrating to look pastā¦ but its not over something small like expecting an event on a alpha game that has no support and no great engine its running onā¦ to run smooth, let alone playableā¦ again the main point is that it was intended to be pvp . and if youre on the server longer than 2 months and tried any of its extra stuff being āmissionsā or events you should know theyre incredibly buggy and to not expect the world.
@Pjams, and Iāve said Iāll get over it. Nothing beats the game or HWS which Rex has worked so hard on. I have my criticisms and Iāve voiced them. Iām not quitting, nor am I expecting any handouts. I think:
1.) An anniversary event to celebrate with your entire community should not include PvP. And if it did, I would have zero problem with it if only the main personal locker was protected for all to collect and enjoy. PvP players do both, PvE players donāt. Everyone should be able to enjoy the event and come away with something without having read the āfine print.ā
2.) I have no problem with the rare resources being in PvP territory, but I think they should be spread out among the PvP zones where the pirates have to patrol, not camp. Golden Globe is still the ultimate resource, lesser ones should be spread out in the PvP zones.
3.) Players should strive to be more like @Bob. You can even be a pirate without being an a**.
Rex even mentioned in chat right before Part 2 started that is was PVP. So as near as I can tell it was listed in 6 places: In Game Announcements, Global Chat NA, Global Chat EU (You said you did the EU event), Forum Announcement, Map Info Screen, and there were giant signs in game in the event itself that said PVP (Even on the EU one, which was unintentionally PVE).
Where else could that information possibly be posted for you? I believe every avenue was covered, even discord pings you with the new announcement. Genuinely curious, how else could you have been informed?
@Cardboard_Jack, I donāt know. I wasnāt on for the beginning of the NA event; I got the time zones wrong. I legitimately missed the notice, or more accurately, perhaps I misunderstood when @RexXxuS said at the EU event that the event was going to be PvE after all; I thought he meant the anniversary event in total. My bad. Whether it was announced or not, I still think it was a lousy idea. I like that the game includes PvP, but donāt think it was appropriate for this event. Just my opinion. Cue every PvP troll on the server to hop on and disagree with me.

The HWS 11 season universe has this quote already shifted to focus but Events and Missions are still lacking in that.
