Whole savegame is gone

What happened?
=> Logged on to EU Server, played the quest, joined later at about 21:00 - lost everything. (New start).
A friendly player helped me then and gave me some equipment and I spawned the starter ship.
Today I reconnected and I am back at my first save and lost everything he gave me..

Hey, @norwayktm.

I just checked your logs, and the first time you played on RE EU this season was yesterday by 21:59 server time. Until then, you haven’t been online on RE EU this season
Even if your player had been reset, I would be able to tell — that is not the case.

So if you were playing outside of the time between 21:59 and 22:34 yesterday, that would have been on another server than RE EU. It could be a completely different server than HWS, or it could be another HWS server. I can’t say. I quickly checked HWS+ EU and RE NA, and you’ve never been online on those servers at least.
You could try to check the “History” tab in the multiplayer menu ingame, and see what servers show up in there.

Make sure you selected “RE EU” in the top of HWS Connect, and not just “EU”, since that refers to HWS+ EU which is another server.

This is unfortunately the best answer I can give you. There’s nothing I can restore or so, since the other playtime would have been on another server.

Thats very strange. I connected to the server right now but its not loading this account. Its loading the account or savegame from where I started yesterday afternoon.

Thanks for the video, I know what the bug is.

In Empyrion, you can never really trust the default selected server in the multiplayer menu. You must select a server manually, or the game might send you into another server. Which server, I have no clue.

But when you connect you just have to select another server and then HWS again. When I check your logs, I can see that you haven’t been online on HWS RE EU today at all, meaning that you were on another unknown server.

It’s unfortunately an annoying game bug, and a very old one

Damn, okay. So how can I connect manually to the server? Or better: where can I find the IP?

I just refreshed the server list multiple times and now its showing me server details. Now I am connected correctly

When you’re in the Empyrion multiplayer menu, rather than using the “Connect” button, just click another server once and then double click on the RE EU server. You’ll connect without problems

Or even better, rather than sorting by player count, just search for “HWS” and then double click the RE EU server in there.
And yes, as you also discovered, make sure you see the server details under “Server Info”. That’s how you know everything is as it should be.
