Xeno from event lost in factory

======= NOTICE FOR HELP =======

What happened:
=> After the event the other day I put 50k xeno from the event into my factory. Now I am attempting to use a blueprint that calls for a pile of xeno substrate and it is not seeing any in the factory. I notice there is a name discrepency between the normal xeno and what we got at the event.

How can we help you now:
=> what do I need to do to recover my 50k xeno in a useable form?

Admins wont restore blueprint materials, afaik. But I know I’ve had an issue with Xeno and CPU Extenders, where if the blueprint doesn’t require them, you dont get the material. If you hit me up when I’m in game sometime, I’ll throw you some Xeno to get your ship spawned in :wink:

That’s strange. The blocks worked just fine for me and others in our faction. Got 5 xeno per block, and time reduced on the BP. Wonder if it’s a client side issue. My need to submit as a bug report.

Nah Sclossin, after speaking in voice comms with him, he threw them in a bp that didn’t require Xeno, but required Iron/Sath… Ive had the same issue a few times, and never got any materials that I put in back.

It’s a known limitation of the blueprint factory that if you throw a block or device into a blueprint that doesn’t require all the types of materials inside that block or device then the extra types are lost.

For example,
If I throw a T2 generator, which has zascosium, into a blueprint that doesn’t require zascosium then it’s lost forever. Only the material types that the blueprint requires will be recorded.

For this reason you should have a ā€œmaterial dumpā€ blueprint that requires every single type of material in the game. Then always pull that blueprint up when you want to put blocks and devices into the factory and then switch to the blueprint you actually want to make afterwards.
If you are putting raw materials (ingots) into the factory then don’t worry. It will only except those if the blueprint requires it.

Unfortunately the server also doesn’t have the ability to recover these for you because the factory is handled on the client side. There is also no record for them to check and verify. Without a record they only have your word and people will take advantage if they just hand stuff out like that.

The developers are very aware of this issue. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be a priority to change right now. Maybe because they plan to completely change the factory some undetermined time down the road. May be worth reporting to them again and reminding them though.

Yep, I understand what happened now. What really is irritating is that I really didnt intend to drop them in at the time. They just got caught up in some quick inventory management.

:disappointed:
