Just a question. Why someone would use 3 accounts?
Triple daily loot? (triple diamonds, triple xeno, triple money and triple rp containers)
Triple bank interests?
Triple Autominers?
Triple OCD?
Triple Pda Missions (triple rewards for containers and triple Alien cores)
Combatlog and magically use the other account to keep playing?
Base defence in pvp?
Well honestly doesnt seems fair from the perspective of who use only one account.
Probably i need to use them too to gain 10.000 rp to get the ocd 10 and will be more easy with 3X less gametime to achieve it.
The issue I see is. Everyone can use 3 accounts to do the same as someone who does. Family share is free and there are no limits behind what theyāre doing beyond committing the time to actually do it.
Itās like in real life. Nobody is stopping you from getting a second job to buy the car you want.
Equal opportunities across all players.
The playing field is perceived as limited because players are choosing to limit themselves.
Players are limiting themselves because rule says that you cant use them to gain massive personal advantage.
Just only using triple daily loot is a massive advantage over who doesnt use it,
I wait everyday to take 3 diamonds and you can take within the same game time 9.
At the end of month i have 90 diamonds and you have 270 diamonds for just logging and claiming it.
I need 3 months to have 270 diamonds. One entire season. And you in one season take 3 seasons worth of loot.
Without even considering all rp + containers + xeno and money.
If we use the actual rule all the people that use daily loot for family share account should be banned instantly since the rule is clear.

@Vandruis yes you can take 3 Jobs, but do you also get 3 times the benefits in real Life? I dont think so. Using multiple Accounts for Daily Loot and Vote, getting 3 times Interest, that are the problems here.
Just for the record, the idea which was floated about detecting multiple āaltsā coming from a single IP and banning them all is ridiculous. I play with my son (11yrs old) and daughter (7yrs old!) on HWS. All three of our accounts would connect from the same IP. Sometimes we play at the same time, sometimes just one of them or both them play. I also PAY (monthly, plus a few other one-off packages) to support HWS, as well has having bought 3 copies of Empyrion so we can all three play at the same time plus a 4th copy for my brother as a gift so he can play. Iāve also brought two other friends onto the server. Banning our IP just because we have 3 accounts connect from it is absurd ā a truly horrible idea.
Iām also not in favor of banning family share accounts. Had they been banned already, neither of my kids would have tried the game and without their interest in the game, I would not have become a paying supporter of HWS.
That being said, I was actually already operating under the (obviously false) assumption that they wouldnāt be able to use the HWS Connect website without owning their own copy of the game. If HWS Connect can be limited to just main accounts, Iām fine with that. However, they would not have started their own character or had any fun playing it without the use of fa:supply and egs:spawn and other commands if those were restricted to only the main account. In that case, they would not have been interested in the game, and I would not have bought them a copy or become a paying HWS supporter.
I understand the desire to limit abuse, but I really think you will shoot yourself in the foot by blocking family sharing in any way.
I also had some family accounts but for family use only as when I started playing Emp back in 2.0 I played along with my two young children. Although I bought the game for them both later āneither now playā but my point is rather than looking at the negative side of players exploiting for personal gain it may lead to less families playing and a lot of fun was had.
My suggestion to @RexXxuS and @Jascha is can the HWS connect be turned off for family share accounts as this will prevent abuse of the system if this is the key problem.
We all know what people use " family share accounts" for . IMO its abuse of the system . Of course people that are huge into the $$$$ on the server are going to complain about not being able to use their other accounts. Should be 1 account period .
I do have to agree that the poll comes across as black-and-white, family sharing either active or not active. HOWEVER, as you read down through all the posts, it becomes clear that with the help of the community, this poll has now really become more grayscale. I wouldnāt call it 50 Shades of Grey, but some additional options have been brought up and the admins are considering them. So really, the poll is more keep family sharing as is, or modify it to reduce abuse.
I get the whole thing about family sharing with the kids, or even a single player with multiple accounts. Heck, I use to have a ton of alts in other games and used them as mules as I could never have enough storage for all the crap I hoarded. I just donāt have all the free time that I use to to play alts anymore. I struggle to get free time to play 1 character/game right now.
So if Rexxus and the community are seeing this feature being abused, then Iām all for them modifying it. I would hate to see it removed and hurt those that are legitimately playing with other family members. I use to love playing online games with my boys.
But does a single individual really need alts in THIS game?
My first reaction is turn them off or as many others have said link only primary account to HWS connect.

If the underlying reason is to stop exploitation of the system then I think this Will punish many people who are completely innocent and use this as intended. Those who want to exploit multiple accounts will buy a second copy and by paying twice why shouldnāt they have 2 accounts and receive double the benefits? Unfortunately if you operate a service based on the more real life money you are prepared to sink into the game āpay to winā he (or she) with the most money will always have an advantage. I donāt agree with it but thatās capitalism for you.
So take fortnight for exampleā¦ paying gives you no advantage in what would be our equivalent of PVP. While there are market / PVP advantages In having multiple accounts people will find a way round so the bigger picture is which few individuals are using the system unfairly? (This is a rhetorical question) and should this be handled directly by discussion between Rexxxus and his superb team?

This poll and others I think stem from trading practices of a few individuals, but ultimately still reside from the massive stores of materials people have and the ease of acheiving massive amounts of resources for some tasks. A faction placing 100ās of autominers on eton. Faction sizes giving individuals 50 to 80 rp daily.
Iām pleased the HWS traders prices have been linked, Iād like to see the market prices linked too somehow.
Lastlyā¦ thank your rexxxus and team for having these poles and making changes. We are lucky to have people who consult us. Who work with Empyrion developers to make changes and fix bugs. Alternatively we could have a faceless organisation who just dictates everything. So next time you criticise or say something hurtful possible re read what you type before you post it!
The result is very close. Not that clear in favor for one direction and do drastical steps.
Nevertheless we heard you and we will work on a better way to track HWS feature interactions by players.
In the first step we will try to manually check and enforce our rules and kick / ban everyone with more than 3 family share accounts if we see itās only for personal gain (greed).
In the next step we see and revisit our rules for the next season. 3 Accounts said were in a time where neither CSW was so successful nor all of our features like HWS Connect Daily Loot, HWS Connect Vote available. 1 or 2 Family Share accounts should be more than enough.
