Player(s) with issue? (steam name)
=> Judious

Server? (+ EU or + NA or RE EU or RE NA)
=> RE NA

When did it happen? (Use server time: type ingame cb:time)
=> 7:15 ish?

On which Playfield?
=> Gunu Gamma > Qa Epsilon

Structure Name(s)?
=> FR RE2 POI Explorer

Structure ID(s) (Open ingame console and type di)?
=>

How can we help you now?
=> The playfield is/was bugged. We went into a combat T3 zone, and the enemies were already out: neither one of us accepted the quest. Then my client crashed, saying EAC kicked me because of client integrity or file integrity or something like that. I finally got in when I switched my computer, my ship had been cored and I lost all of my stuff. My friend tried to fight off the ships so I could rescue what was left of my ship, but every time he killed an enemy ship, a new one appeared. This happened for over an hour. When I restarted and went to Akua and he retreated out of the system, there were still 10 or so ships in there; they just kept regenerating. Is there any way to restore a backup of my ship? I lost both my patreon cores, my HWS armor, and everything of significance I’ve gathered this season. We’ve obliterated several of these T3s this season; there was obviously something wrong with this one…

Oh sorry, I didn’t realize they were connected… Where do you see a number?

that was for admin to tell them this is a duplicate ticket via discord

Hey, @Judious.

Please no duplicate tickets. It doesn’t matter if you create one in the forum or in Discord, but not both places.

This ship CSW’ed to RE EU on the 26th of November, and I don’t see a ship by its name on RE NA anymore.
Please find me the ID of your ship in Structure Commander.

As I said, I didn’t realize the two ticket systems were connected. I have apologized. But as for the structure ID, it’s really strange, but it isn’t appearing on my Structure Commander (maybe because I didn’t delete the core?). The SCV Hitchhiker was docked inside the CV FR RE POI Explorer when the latter was destroyed in the Qa Epsilon sector of Gunu Gamma. The SCV still shows up in my Structure Commander–its ID is 21353173.

your main mistake is that you have gone into combat with ship that carried all of your stuff…i mean, that is a really, really bad idea…you should think of it as “if you go into a fight, take with you only that what you are ready to lose”

They’re technically not connected, we just watch both of them. But if you make two tickets, there’s a small chance we won’t notice, and then solve it twice which would be bad :grimacing:
But no worries this time, it’s just so you know for future reference :slight_smile:

It’s still quite difficult for me to understand this ticket, and it looks like it would already be complicated to solved.
Technically if you get destroyed after a bug or so, it’s important for us that you just completely leave the destroyed ship alone, without taking any items, taking blocks, etc.
And it really helps if you can give us a video of what happened :slight_smile:

As an exception, I at least gave you these below. Unfortunately, I can’t help better than that here.

I do appeciate the help. I didn’t touch the destroyed ship. It is still there with the SCV docked inside of what is left of it. The playfield is still swarming with bandits as of yesterday. Neither my friend nor I have ever had trouble with a T3 combat zone before. It is a shame there is no way to see what was in the CV; in addition the patreon cores and the HWS armor, it had one of my logistics stations, one of my alien cores I got this season as a donor benefit, all the quantum processors I collected in POIs, etc. This is my mobile base, and had I not been kicked by the game repeatedly, I would not have been in any danger of even losing all of my shields. I didn’t think to video the event because I didn’t know it would happen ahead of time…and it was really a casual gaming night…these T3 zones are not hard for where I am in the game. What is left of my CV is STILL sitting in that zone as far as I know. I have not taken anything from it… I couldn’t if I wanted to, with so many bandits having spawned in and having no ship… I have been playing since 2019, I’m not here to scam or cheat… :smiley:

and the game proved you wrong :smiley:

I’m completely baffled and impressed you’ve been taking a houseboat into combat zones for 5 years without this happening until now :grin:

I wouldn’t take it into a T5, but I’ve haven’t really even lost my shields in a T3 until this time. We went back together after I rebuilt my ship from blueprint (and left my valuables at our base). The playfield is still bugged. You kill a bandit and two more appear… and neither one of us started the quest…

you do know that your ship can now die even with full shields, it is called “Shield Penetration”, a stat added to weapons in RE2?

This has nothing to do with that. The playfield in question is bugged. It’s still bugged. It was swarming with bandits when we entered and still is. You kill one and more instantly appear. There are dozens in there right now. My game crashed when I entered and wouldn’t let me back in… My buddy fought the little bandits for over an hour and couldn’t decrease their number.

my ‘first time’ sense is tingling…

again, this is an insanely buggy game in general. has been since conception. almost everyone knows it’s not a good idea too take loot pinata into any combat zone. even a single talon stickman can destroy an entire fleet given the right circumstances :pensive:

It is what it is. I’m glad I can entertain the toxic forum trolls, but this is moot at this point. I legitimately lost a lot of my stuff due to a verifiable bugged playfield that can still be visited. Support staff, as is typical, didn’t want to take my word for it or engage in the minimal effort to warp over there and verify for themselves. They did however minimally compensate me, for which I am grateful. I did something kinda stupid, so I can’t argue too much. I guess I have been very lucky not to encounter too many catastrophic bugs since I’ve been playing at HWS. But asking for a replacement of imaginary digital items so I can continue to pay real money each month to play doesn’t seem like too much of a burden on anyone.

And unless there is another more active support forum, there are not hundreds of tickets coming through here every day. I’m good though. I do wish Rex would take my advice from years ago and make the support forum semi-private like most other games, so the toxic community doesn’t get to jump in with their non-constructive condescending comments and harrass those who ask for help. I am thankful for the help I did receive, I acknowledge it wasn’t the best player strategy, but the outcome was due to a verifiable borked playfield. Thanks to the public support forum, you can go back if you like and harass me for the other issues I’ve had over the years, but it really isn’t constructive or your place to tell me over and over that I shouldn’t have taken my stuff in there in the first place.

It’s not so much about what happened, as it’s the fact that the logs we have available are very limited.
I can’t see how your ship was destroyed, I can’t see if items were taken from it or blocks, and I had a difficult time understanding which ship was even the problem.
Since so many things were happening at once (your ship being attacked, your friend fighting nearby, and you were likely logging back in again), that means it’s too difficult for us to be able to help. Therefore, we ask for a video, so we can see exactly what happened.
I don’t doubt what you said was what was happening, but there’s still too many unknown variables for us.

We have some guidelines that we follow when providing support, and unfortunately this is just how we decided it must be, due to the way Empyrion is.

The items I did return was already an exception from these guidelines, and the best we can offer without a video.

In our Discord server, we have a channel called #create-help-ticket, where you can make a ticket. Those are private, so only HWS staff can read and respond to them. But this forum is public :slight_smile:

to be fair, toxicity levels depend on points of view. as a 5yr veteran, one could assume u would be familiar with how this place doesn’t always work as it should. I guess it’s my fault for assuming you would know this but it was not my intent to be toxic at all. trust me though, it is very clear when I am making attempts to actually be toxic :smirk:

side note: this place was set up so that the community can help when the admins don’t have time. if you don’t like the community to help, stick to discord tickets.

Dr. Dark,

I do appreciate what you gave me. It was stupid of me to carry around all my stuff with me. Using a patreon core, without the replacement, I couldn’t even rebuild my ship with the materials I have because it gives the extra 200000 CPU.

My issue comes with the fact that a couple things are easily verifiable. There are 20 bandit ships in that playfield at present that have no business being there. If you kill a few of them, there will be 20+ bandit ships left, as more immediately spawn in and replace the ones that are dead. Neither my friend or I started the quest, they were there before the “messaging” portion had even completed. As I said, my friend successfully killed dozens of those bandits for over an hour without decreasing their number. We’ve played that T3 scenario before and know it isn’t supposed to work that way. For a few days afterwards, my ship remained destroyed in that PvE playfield; a ship we built that would display our name in the stats were you to replace its core.

In addition to this, I am a Master level Patreon donor that has been playing for 5+ years on HWS (although I haven’t been this tier of Patreon for that long). You don’t have to take my word for what happened, but the level of proof you are demanding above and beyond what is available seems a little ridiculous. Why would I be recording video of a random T3 encounter? I have not had this situation happen before and had no reason to expect it to take place.

That being said, I appreciate your help, and admit I wasn’t playing my best game that time. I also totally did not realize the Discord support forum was private (I wasn’t aware about much regarding the two support forums if you remember), so I will be making any requests there from now on.

Bob, to be fair, you are missing the point in that it was none of your business. We’ve gotten along great in the past and I love your ship designs which I have used quite a bit. Of course I know better than to bring my POI ship into PvP or into a heavy encounter, but I didn’t consider this to be either of those and I made a bad call. It was dumb to bring my ship in there. That doesn’t change the fact that the playfield is bugged and shouldn’t prevent me from asking if there is anything that can be done about my situation. Dr. Dark did not give me all my stuff back, he did generously give me back some things that are irreplaceable this season.

But again, none of this is any of your business. You are not offering helpful tips for the future, but either rubbing my nose in my careless play style or trying to accuse me of lying about playing for this amount of time (which would be silly because that is easily verifiable) or trying to insult my intelligence. You have contributed positively to my HWS experience over the years, but forum troll doesn’t look good on you…
