Sure thing. We were attacking a Drone Base in space, and my ship was positioned roughly 3 km away from the base, essentially just observing and providing support. At the time, there were no Guardian ships anywhere near me, I wasnât taking any incoming fire, and my shields were sitting around 80% and actively recharging. I also had no generator overload warning or any other indication that my ship was about to fail.
The strange part is that my ship suddenly stopped moving, almost as if it had become stuck on something. Shortly afterward, the entire ship blew up.
My friend then flew over to investigate and found a Guardian Ship literally stuck inside my ship. We destroyed the Guardian Ship afterward and are now just trying to figure out exactly what happened.
I completely understand that if we had pushed the Guardian Ship too hard, allowed our shields to drop, or simply got caught in a bad situation, we could have been destroyed. But thatâs not what happened here. I wasnât engaging the Guardian Ship, I wasnât under fire, my shields were healthy and recharging, and there were no warnings indicating an imminent failure.
Weâve attacked Advanced POIs before and know how the encounters normally work. When our shields get down to around 40%, we back off, let them recharge, and then make another pass. Thatâs why this particular incident stands out as being very unusual. The fact that my ship became stuck and was then found with a Guardian Ship physically inside it makes me think something else was going on.
Iâm not trying to claim we should be invulnerable or that we couldnât have made a mistake. Iâm just trying to understand what actually happened, because based on what we could see at the time, there was no obvious reason for my ship to suddenly explode.
Weâve really been enjoying your server and recently became Patrons because weâve been having such a great time playing here. If thereâs any chance you could throw us a Bone and help us recover the ship, weâd really appreciate it. If not, I completely understandâweâre mainly just hoping to figure out what happened so we know how to avoid it in the future. Thank for youâre time Dr. Dark.
