HWS 9 Teaser II | OCD rework | New HWS Gameplay

What about ocd hotzones? Like bankzone etc…

Could be fun with only a few hotspots arround at different places. With the new volume gameplay (Not active yet) this could give more fun to the roleplay… though, lvl7 and above gives you the possibility to use it everywhere

Makes the game needlessly grindier and nerfs OCD to an extent. We shouldn’t even be thinking about things that make this game MORE of a chore to play

Instead like Rex has done mostly we should look at things to ADD to these features such as additional levels, rather than things to take away.

And we have some OCD hotspots in PVP already i think… (egs star? can one access their ocd in that?) I think it’s fine already but i’m open to additional PVP hotspots if you guys feel it’ll benefit those without OCD 7.

Best regards
Wise.

Good Morning @everyone,

after reading a lot of feedback and thinking day and night the last days I went back to the drawing board and thought about “what is OCD” etc.
Some mentioned it here and there already and so a whole new idea came to my mind yesterday, which will re-invent OCD to a certain degree - for the better I think!

Keep in mind that no big change is applied to veterans - I made it as compatible as possible.
See the very first post or here a copy, since it won’t change anymore:

The big change are the Implemented Categories.
It makes OCD much more lucrative for beginner but giving veterans and motivated players later on a much better experience on HWS!
Some will see the inspiration I got about the Volume system but in a fair way. And what I especially like: decisions! You can store very valuable items in early stage already but because they are special they consume a lot of space in the slot!

I also added Xeno Blocks back to the OCD for HWS 9. I want to motivate you to build more “Alien” ships.
Overall with Categories it is much more scalable and “future ready”, in case new cool items come out or we want to switch some items per category.

Summary:
For veterans nothing will change on instant (except reduced OCD PvP cooldowns in general)
The only impact will be for some the Category of Auto Miners. So whoever has 70000 Auto Miner cores in one slot (no comment on that), are affected by the slot size. But it won’t be split on HWS 9. You get the idea.
For beginner or smart logistic player they can make profit of OCD earlier now.
But since OCD level 1 to 4 are not considered as “registered” OCD partners in the Elemental Galactic Services Corporation, they have to visit dedicated OCD zones, where a Telecommunication Signal Booster will work with the Orbital Cargo Drone.

VERY cool idea applying weighting to certain items, i for one really like this idea, I’m curious as to what @Fasgort and even @Paxxo1985 Think?! I love this idea, i’ll post this around our alliance chat to get some other voices heard, thanks for listening to all the feedback Rexxus, i really like this and where it is going!

Best regards

I like this idea  , we see how it works.

the only thing that is going to obvious, is low level OCD holders will just build bases close as possible to the OCD zones.

**but that might also encourage them to upgrade!
(it should also promote the use of OCD when new comers see a cluster of bases)

THIS, is a far more amazing way to go about it. Great job on the effort and thought. It seems to give a nice scaling, and gives a purpose to almost every level and a good reason for the price spikes.

Excellent.

A good all-round rebalance that gives the new players the ability to progress at a slow pace as they learn and give the vets a late game target without to much of a grind.

With all the proposed changes in 9.0 and beyond I can see that the whole OCD concept has been a bit of a headache but yet again some clever thinking and “I’m sure JU’s magic coding” you keep things fresh and balanced.

Good work Rex

Nice idea limiting pve usage for low levels but in meanwhile they can store their alien cores.

anyway this is one step forward and two backwards.
Cryterans should be happy now since is all like before
No need to push to 7 anymore.

I think that this could be a palliative for them THIS season restoring the all-in.
If i were them I would start to roll up my sleeves and push for 7 before the end of the NEXT season.
Who knows what could happen! Maybe the rare slot will be toned down :scream:

Good luck.

They can try but I won’t recommend it
Ever saw the turrets on Black market or got hit by tax on ECC?

And parking near trading stations might be a bad idea if your npc reputation drops below “Neutral”

Well i think that does it, we’re all in agreement that this is the superior OCD model to go for. I’m glad we managed to all reach a successful compromise, well done to all involed and thanks to the contributions from everyone. Cheers to @aeonbug and @SwissSteel1 two of our very well experienced members. Thank you to @Fasgort for being my sparring partner in our long-winded replies to one-another. Thanks to @Jeeves for…well for being jeeves! (And for coming out and having your voice heard! ) thanks to @Paxxo1985 as despite his somewhat childish posts he did contribute somewhat. (Maybe a little more content and less baiting next time buddy!) And @Freemam_br thanks for coming along and sharing your point of view

And thanks to everyone else for having their voice heard. The wider range of voices and people we get on the forums the farier these processes are, make sure to tell the current active players to come and have their voice heard!

Best regards
Wise.

I really like this idea.
It scales as it upgrades and all items can be stored.

Thanks RexXxus!!

when you have ocd7 and more than 700 cores i a slot , did the others get wiped or not??

Just for clarity, What is the number allowed of ultra rare, epic, rare? is that amount per slot, or total items of that type allowed?

@RexXxuS

Hi mate, per slot i believe

Yeah i swear it was per slot, but now i can’t find it! Good question! We’ll 'ave to find out

I hope so too… But it can be read different ways

Hey Wiseman , do you know when you have at the moment more than 700 in a slot, whats with the others?

I don’t know if someone already asked this, but the categories, are they for 1 slot, or in total. For example OCD 5

So i can store either 50.000 common(In 1 slot) or 500 rare(In 1 slot ) …?

EDIT. Just noticed that Upgrayedd already asked.

We Hope / slot
