that statement right there proves you’ve read almost nothing here. you skimmed and pulled out pieces to form the wrong narrative.
in essence that is what’s being offered here. prove you are active or your stockpile starts to decay. this is a lot less painful than just arbitrarily wiping OCDs that have been inactive for x amount of days. if we flip the switch the way you suggest, there would be more hate posts than they’re already are about it slowly decaying.
this forum post discussion is to come up with ideas that we can all agree on that consider us active players while those who are no longer active don’t continue receive the benefits the rest of us do. supporting the server comes in many forms. the easiest way to support the server is to just join in and play. how many here joined simply because it was the mostly populated server in the list? activity increases popularity.
And i do see where you want to go with your suggestion! And, you are not wrong.
But, this thread is not about if or not, but how!
In the old days we had the how, do to smaler universe, more reasons to “use” the ocd hardcore. People with lot of resources made money, because pvp players needed a quick way to get back in battle! The ocd`s whent down fast for everyone, and the prices was fun… You actually made money if you spent time harvesting iron! Today, no ones buy it = money stay put, resources stay put…
Maybe inflation is the wrong term in this whole situation? But, to make more fun for everyone, the ocd must be reduced somehow! Even AC are cheap now, i can buy 10 of the marked if i need, only by melting some gold ore!
Don`t think noone read what you write, everyone do, espessially @RexXxuS But he usally read all, then summons up
as i see it, there will be some action taken on ocd (happend many times before) but now WE, the community can affect HOW and WHEN. My suggestion is RP =)
not hours, thats to easy… boost food, and leave the avatar ingame!
Surely the word “inflation” is not a proper one… because if I understand well, its not about price increase, but about the simple fact that the longer people playing the more material they will have in their OCD.
But I fail to see why it is a problem, its a natural thing, and still dont see how passivity comes in the picture… why only the people not playing for a season or two are the problem… who actually dont increase the stuff they stored in the OCD - actually the actives put more and more materials in their OCD ant the end of the season…
Lots of stockpiles on the marked bring down the prices… so what? It doesnt ruin the game or the market, cheap stuff is always good
The economic term inflation is the incorrect one. it’s mainly inflated OCD stockpiles is where the word is coming from. A lot of real world terms don’t make sense in our digital universe. I think that’s a major perception issue that we are having here.
a season or 2 is just the suggested starting point. that number can change depending on the situations moving forward. if HWS was a much larger entity, none of this would be discussed at all. there are storage limits on what Rex can do with HWS connect that is compounded by the amount of players we see here. if someone is gone for a year, what’s the sense in holding on to their stuff? it provides no benefit to the server owner or the community itself.
one of main concerns is there are many stockpiles that would cripple the marketplace. lots of HWS haters out there would love the opportunity to crash the marketplace and ruin everyone else’s fun.
Honestly, I see we have a moving target now… the initial statement didn’t mention about hardware storage issues, or HWS haters, or hackers who obviously exploit and has to be punished.
These are valid points.
But the whole concept is about punishing people who miss a season or two and assuming they are all cheaters or having epic OCD stockpiles or they are HWS haters waiting for the moment to hurt the community . These are plain wrong assumptions.
None of your arguments true only for the passives.
andi say again: RP, but not crazy ocdlvl10 10000 types, but something everyone can manage during a short time!
Also, tho, i am patreon, i dont think any patreon lvl should count towards this goal! Sry, but just how i feel! I can easy pay my way out of all of this if i want, but many cant, and should not be forced to work harder for that reason!
So it can build this scheme on the basis of Patreons, just choose the right proportions of profits and losses, and not on the performance of any forced actions? Personally, the META threshold is too high for me, but I can safely be a VETERAN. And based on this, build proportions for new (non-permanent) and completely lost players, having a little magic over the percentage of OCD losses. And you can raise the semblance of an old garage - is there a situation in life in which you need to leave the game for a certain period? You can, let’s say for 1 year, buy a support package for the stability of your OCD … If the player is a patriot, he will support the server anyway, if he is not a patriot and wants to return, he will pay for the package. If a player is a beginner and likes HWS, he will start thinking about improving his “peace” on the server.
I hope I guessed your idea about the activity of the players.
If the problem is that people are stockpiling way too much in their OCD, and it having a negative impact on the ingame economy, i don’t see how weeding out the inactive players is going to fix the problem that you are posing. The only way to fix that is lets say to have OCD only stock some basic materials and nothing else. Either this or remove OCD all the same, and do a proper wipe of everything at the end of the season, like all other gathering/survival games do.
I was replying to this. It was in refference to the fact that ALL players have that advantage wether they are active or not. So hence why i didn’t see why making a distinction between active and non active players would make any difference whatsoever, regardless if i can see the back end of things or not.
again, the reasons have been explained in depth. all you have to do is scroll up.
I get it then most will see the opening post and then scroll right to the bottom to post their input but we are well past that part of the conversation. please continue moving it forward.
I understand you’re new here. but really all you have to do is scroll up and read. your answers have been provided. I’m not going to rehash the novel every time someone doesn’t want to read.
