If people living on PvE cant enter and attack people living in PvP then i dont see the problem.

Yeah - I personally might do exactly that - but lets face the facts. Traders were the biggest faction in 3 and early 4 because of the bonuses. Then suddenly alliance started getting free money and tada lots of alliance faction players sitting in medbays all day.

The vast majority of the player base will go where the best rewards are. This has been shown time and time again.

Right now the factions are 100% balanced because they are not special - well except 'Freelance which is no faction" which gets the shaft (again - why does it even exist? Just get rid of it already.)

The second you give one origin a benefit that others don’t have - it’ll become the most popular origin within a week.

Then give each faction a special benefit but then each faction gets a negitive aswell :stuck_out_tongue: , becuase atm the only difference is gun meh…

I promise you there is no negative in the world that would offset a pve origin world while others are pvp.

Lets see 100% safe source of infinite common ores that no other origin has access to - what negative could possibly offset that?

The fact that origins do not give any special bonuses is by far one the best changes that 5.0 brought. People showed their true colors - and Pirates were by far the most popular faction on day one. cause you know…why roll tRadier now?

But punishing people indeed never worked well. Punishments for some things too low, others who exploit get only a bunch of warning again and again and others who don’t break the rules get punished and punishments for same offenses were different per player (depends on admin mood?).
There were also good punishments of course but I saw one after another getting away with stuff in 4.0… Almost all veterans.
So okay that didn’t work well.

Traders have best supply package and can buy pretty much unlimited NPC packages. So traders win. Yet not everybody is trader. Perhaps the advantage is not big enough for some but if you know how to use the npc package thing (hint: imbalance somewhere) you are golden.

But why would I need npc traders when I already have all the materials/ammo/fuel I would ever need?

This is a solid, good damn response. Thanks Mord. I agree with most of this… The gap is just too huge for us new players to want to even get into PVP… Its difficult for us to spend a week gathering what little resources there are on Starter planets (AM’s dont give you near enough for entry levels if you can even place them before they get mined out), only to go out and lose it all and start the next week all over. Tough place for the server, but kicking PVE out entirely isnt gonna fix the problem, Its just gonna thin the population.

^ Because there is an imbalance somewhere. It’s not about the materials.

Ok…but I don’t need anything. So why would I care about an imbalance when I have everything I want?

I don’t care about the materials they sell. I don’t care about money in general. I never interact with them and fail to see how any exploit would change that.

I think one thing sums everything up perfectly:
people don’t know the potential of HWS.
They don’t know OCD, AM, all commands, NPC Trader, dynamic universes and other benefits like HWS Connect.

This in total is a disadvantage against people which know it.
We want to tackle this lack of knowledge with some videos soon but still this is the biggest problem.

HWS influence the gameplay quite strong so the learning curve is not what some people expect or want.
And it is a lot of work for us to still make everyone happy.

The truth is also: we can’t make everyone happy.

But I think after this poll, after the next big feature and 5.1+ this will be more balanced again.

We had the AM months before Eleon. So just let’s say our AM are old but gold :wink: A boost is coming soon maybe.

A bright future is waiting for them - that is why.

Uh Rexxus, NPC Trader on NA doesn’t even have any working shops. I expected it to take a few days to set it up obviously, but we are going on what 3 weeks now?

Also a criticism on the EM space station design. It is really cumbersome to get to the trading console decos buried deep inside those glass elevator walkways. I can’t tell you how many ppl I’ve had to escort to show them exaclty how to get down to the console deco’s who couldn’t find it. Please consider adding some console deco’s on the roof of each shop that are easier to get to, thx.

Also I think we really need to know what this will bring to the table before making a final call on origins:

If CV mining is a reliable and viable source of getting large quantities of basic minerals - I’d vote that Origin planets be turned into a very juicy asteroid belt.

There is allways this complaining about getting more pve here and there, from evry versions we have had more and more pve…

What about the pvp aspects? it just feels like its getting no attention at all… sadly
i have lived on an pvp planet for weeks now, i dont get any pvp rewards or can use ocd, while in pve people get all they need.
where is my bonus for defending against waves of waves of big factions trying to take it out.

I just think if we look whats this is going for, it dosent look good on the pvp part, who wants to just build and i never have that feeling in stomach that an pirate might be waiting in the nearby mountain, that is called fun! not just live on an immortal world :confused:

Right now i think i am about the only one having an base in pvp and therefor evryone coming to me to pvp and have fun.

if you do now make an full pve server, there should be no chance to move over between servers then, and make the normal server full pvp then.

The design can be fixed easily.

The Bug that the damn station rotates so all zones don’t match again is a bug I am fighting with the devs! :frowning:
The shops are in there but the zones needs to be fixed to be recognized by the player.

I like the idea of asteroid mining way more than meteorite mining. Plus asteroids give like 10x the ore than a meteor. They just need to have them constantly respawning. Imagine all the interesting battles that can be had in an asteroid belt fighting for resources :smiley:
